The defect
K2 hid conversion kits of 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, H7, H4, H3 & H1 in 8000k and 6000k. these lighting sources do not conform the electrical specifications that are required by federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
The risk
These lights produce excessive glare to oncoming traffic.
The remedy
Kmi will repurchase the noncompliant kits. owner notification began october 17, 2003. owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact kmi at 1-516-420-5629.
