The defect
On certain trailer mounted booms, the hold-down latches that secure the mast are not being properly latched.
The risk
As a result, structural failure of the tongue tube could occur causing the trailer to become unstable during transport, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Owners will be provided with a tongue reinforcement kit and installation instructions. the recall began on june 14, 2004. owners should contact genie at 1-866-927-7269.
