The defect
On certain fifth wheel trailers, the emergency/breakaway brake system wiring was changed.
The risk
If the event the trailer becomes disconnected from the towing vehicle, the emergency/breakaway brake system may not be activated which could result in a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will modify the current wiring for the brake actuator and add a relay free of charge. the recall began on june 17, 2005. owners may contact alfa leisure at 1-800-373-3372.
