Rockwell l series axles are involved.possibility that axle housings may havea deficiency as a result of the friction weld location relative to the oil sealjournal radius.a deficiency in this location may cause cracks that couldultimately lead to failure of the spindle.if a failure occurs, the spindlewith its assembled parts consisting of a hub, drum, bearings, wheels and tiresbecome disengaged from vehicle and may roll free in an uncontrolled mannerwithout warning to the driver.(correct by inspecting and replacing with newhousing assemblies).
