The defect
On the involved vehicles there IS a possibility that, if involved in a collision, the rider could impact the hinged fuel filler cap in such a manner as to actuate the release lever and open the cap. This would result in a gasoline leak.
The remedy
Dealer will replace the original fuel filler cap latch with a locking device, without charge.
