The defect

Non compliance with federal motor vehicle safety standard 109, new pneumatic tires. A separation may develop between the plies in the lower side wall area of the tire, possibly resulting in a sudden loss of air.

The remedy

Return tires to dealer for replacement within 60 days of notification.
