The defect
The helmet fails to meet the requirements of fmvss 218 S5.1 impact attentuation, S5.2 penetration, and S5.6 labeling. consequence of defect: the helmet fails to meet the fmvss may result in injury to the wearer in the event of a severe impact.
The remedy
Replace helmet with one that IS in compliance with fmvss 218.
