The defect
Fuel line assembly IS a flex fitting design that transfers fuel to the fuel injection pump from the fuel filters. the flange on the fuel line may crack.
The risk
A cracked flange would allow diesel fuel to spray fromthe filter hose until engine shuts down due to lack of fuel. there IS also apotential of engine compartment fire.
The remedy
A new improved designed hose will be installed to replace the old hose.
