The defect
Welds that attached tube and chain bracket to crossmember assembly were porous and inadequate in size.
The risk
Failure of welds could lead to sudden separation of thetrailer from the towing vehicle.
The remedy
Hitches are to be returned for replacement of crossmembers at no cost to consumer.
