The defect

Hose layer separation occurred at applied test load below minimum required load.

The risk

Vehicles would not comply with fmvss 106; and air brake hose failure could cause loss of braking control, and result in an accident.

The remedy

Replace hoses with hoses that comply with fmvss 106.
