The defect

Rear wheel tie rod assembly may fatigue and fracture at inboard bearing due to high inner joint rocking torque.

The risk

Fracture could result in loss of control and a crash without prior warning.

The remedy

Replace faulty tie rod assemblies as directed. This recall IS associated with gm product safety campaign 89c17.
