The defect
The throttle return spring may not automatically return the throttle lever to the idle postion in the event that the linkage becomes disconnected.
The risk
This could cause loss of accelerator control if the throttle linkage fails in the full open position. This could result in an accident.
The remedy
Install an improved throttle return kit.
