The defect
There IS a circumferential linear discontinuity, which appears as a crack, at the intersection of the disc and the rim on the shallow side of some of the wheels.
The risk
The discontinuity can cause loss of tire air pressureand possible tire/rim separation from the vehicle, which could result in lossof vehicle control and a possible vehicle accident.
The remedy
Alcoa will replace the defective wheels.
