The risk

Loss of brake fluid due to the rupture of the steel brake line causes loss of rear braking capability which can result in extended stopping distances and can cause an accident.

The remedy

Dealers will reroute the parking brake cable away from the steel brake line. The steel brake line will be replaced if abrasion or wear IS evident.
