The defect
Non-stainless steel balls (chrome plated steel) in the thermal trigger of the pressure relief device have corroded causing false thermal activation.
The risk
This condition can cause a sudden release of CNG. If CNG were released to the environment and an ignition source were present, a fire could occur.
The remedy
Mirada will replace these pressure relief devices with devices which have stainless steel balls.
