The defect

Equipment description: aftermarket drag link (connecting rod) assemblies for use on 1988-1998 chevrolet astro and GMC safari MINI vans. incorrect nuts may have been packaged and shipped with drag links. separation between the nut and the mating component (drag link) can occur.

The risk

This condition can cause a loss of steering increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

The remedy

Owners will be provided with replacement parts. dana will compensate owners for all related charges for the inspection and replacement of these parts.
