The defect

Vehicle description: heavy duty trucks. the steering slip shaft connecting the steering column to the steering gear input shaft might be too long.

The risk

The steering gear input shaft could crack increasing the risk for loss of steering control.

The remedy

Dealers will replace the steering slip shafts.
