The defect

Vehicle description: sport utility vehicles. the power assisted steering pump pulley can fail resulting in a loss of steering power assist. if vehicle operation IS continued, engine overheating/damage could result.

The risk

The loss of steering assist could increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

The remedy

Dealers will install a power steering pump/pulley assembly.
