Saw recall for tires posted for harbor freight tires that came with the trailer kit. (Nhtsa recall number 17t-017) I took the tires with rim to store as noted on the posted notice. The tires I have IS 12" innova tire with code 0FB5 the store located melrose park, il #00481 the store refused to exchange the tire per notice without a mailed notice by harbor freight. I did not receive any mailing from the company.

Regarding my harbor freight trailer, vin [xxx], manufactured 09-2015: the trailer light kit that came with my trailer included tail lights that are identical in appearance to the incandescent tail light kits in their recall notice, per nhtsa recall no. 15E-019. I called harbor freight tools to ask if the tail lights are the same as any of the 3 models affected by the recall, but they could not give me a definitive answer. since the kit that came with my trailer didn't have a part number on it, I am left not knowing if my lights are compliant or not. worse, it leaves me thinking that harbor freight may still be selling noncompliant lights along with their trailers, even though they may have fixed whatever issues resulted in the recall of the actual light kits. did nhtsa's investigation extend to the lighting kits that are supplied with the trailer kits? if not, I believe this IS something that should be done. though both of my rear tail lights have separate bulbs for the side markers, I'm not sure whether they might suffer from whatever problems the other two part numbers suffered from. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *tr
