Just received a recall letter for my 2011 fusion passenger takata airbag stating. "a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death". I called the dealership & they informed me that the parts to fix or replace would not be available for several months but you can still drive the vehicle. ????? I take care of my elderly parents I transport my 90 yr old mother to from from the hospital er doc visits. she recently had a few falls broke her hip, wrist, nose etc. I can not put them in a vehicle knowing this can happen. Why would you send a letter out before you can do anything about it? what about rental cars provided by ford?
