On certain toy hauler travel trailers, the wiring installed for an aftermarket generator IS 14-gauge wire. the generator requires the use of 8-gauge wire.
Risk and remedy
Risk
Using the generator could cause the wire to smolder, burn or the circuit breaker to trip increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the 14-gauge wire with 8-gauge wire. skyline IS recommending that owners do not use the generator until this wire has been replaced. the recall began on may 2, 2007. owners may contact skyline at 1-800-736-2573.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 american spirit trailer. the contact stated that she has a faulty trailer from an unknown manufacturer. the wiring IS defective and the generator IS improperly installed. the vehicle was taken to a mechanic shop and they stated that the vehicle was unsafe to occupy. no other vehicle information was available.
