An electrical short circuit may occur within the tow converter printed circuit board, which can deactivate the electronic stability control system and cause the brake lights to remain illuminated. Risk and remedy
Risk
Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system or continuously illuminated brake lights can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the tow converter, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 30, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TB15 and 26TA15.
