Risk and remedy
Risk
If such separation occurs during operation, braking ability with the rear wheel will be reduced or lost, which could cause a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the rear brake shoes. the recall began on october 8, 2004. owners should contact yamaha at 1-800-889-2624.

If one or both brake pads become dislodged from caliper, it IS possible for them to be reinstalled incorrectly, yet still be able to install the wheel. If this occurs, the front wheel will not spin freely. No model years listed.
