Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2006-2020 AH150 and AH125S Articulating Non-Overcenter Aerial Devices. The incorrect counterbalance valve may have been installed in the main lift cylinder. As a result, at certain boom positions the counterbalance valve will open due to the pressure in the cylinder exceeding the setting.
Risk and remedy
Risk
If one of the hoses between the cylinder and the external counterbalance valve manifold were to fail to hold pressure, the boom could unexpectedly lower, increasing the risk of an injury.
Remedy
Altec will notify owners, and dealers will install the correct counterbalance valve if necessary, free of charge. The recall began January 11, 2021. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 784.

10248300Altec has learned that the affected units may have incorrect fittings installed at the lower control station manifold block. Incorrect fittings can allow air into the hydraulic system. The presence of air in the hydraulic system will cause abnormal operation, noise, and damage to the pump.
10195324Altec has learned that certain AH125 aerials built between 2018 to 2020 have bolted joints on the upper boom hose carrier mountings which can fail and allow the hose carrier to come loose within the boom. This can cause damage to the hose carrier and result in unplanned downtime. Altec requires that the upper boom hose carrier mountings on each unit be inspected. The inspection must be completed no later than the next periodic maintenance interval or 30 days from the receipt of this SIL, whichever comes first.
10193578Altec has learned that the fender rubber on certain units built from July 2020 to October 2020 can become detached from the wheel well fender cutout of the utility body. Altec recommends that all fender rubber be inspected using the inspection procedure described in the SIL. If the installed fender rubber does not pass inspection, order and install the Fender Rubber Replacement Kit. If the fender rubber passes the inspection, complete the Inspection Sheet at the end of this document. No additional inspections are required.
