Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2019 LR7 Series, TDA58 and L42M Aerial Devices. The high strength fasteners used to secure the pedestal to the turntable may fail.
Risk and remedy
Risk
If the fasteners break, the pedestal may separate from turntable, increasing the risk of injury or death.
Remedy
Altec will notify owners and will inspect and replace the fasteners if necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 22, 2020. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this campaign is CSN 750.

- 10185143Altec has discovered that the fuse for the main contactor in the L JEMS system on the affected units can be undersized. A 250 amp fuse may have been installed instead of the required 400 amp fuse. This can cause repeated blowing of the fuse and resulting loss of power. Altec has created a service kit to replace the fuse and connecting cable. This will prevent improper blowing of the fuse and ensure that the cable is properly sized. Altec requires that the kit be installed no later than the next regular maintenance interval.
