Nhtsa recall 19v547 -- I recently experienced the issue with my 2017 audi A4 in which the passenger occupant detection system has become faulty. As a result of this issue, my passenger air bag will shut off as it IS not detecting a passenger in the vehicle even when one IS present. I contacted my audi dealer who told me they were aware of this issue but did not have the parts to fix the problem at that time. This was over a month ago and remains an issue. With no other form of transportation, we are forced to drive a car without a passenger air bag intermittently. This IS a serious risk to our family. I brought this up again to our dealer, they informed me that if I wanted to trade this vehicle in, they would give me a $500 allowance towards a new car. This does not solve the problem and even now they will not schedule my car for service as they do not have the parts to support the repair. This IS a major risk to my family. It occurs randomly during motion. At even 30 mph a collision would render my passenger unprotected. I am not sure what I can do right now to keep this unsafe vehicle on the road.

The front crash mitigation system called audi presence does not work on my car. I bought an audi certified preowned vehicle that was supposed to have original windshield to find out 6 months after I own car that windshield was replaced and presence does not work. This IS a required safety system in my car and will cost 1700 to repair. Audi of america refuses to fix this under warranty despite this being a faulty system. They will not even return my calls or emails. The presence system stops the car so an accident does not occur.

This IS a tire complaint about continental contiprocontact 245/40/r18 79H tires. Audi prestige A4 was purchased from dealer, fletcher jones audi in chicago, on 12/29/17. It had been a dealer demonstrator and had very low mileage. It IS used mostly for city low speed driving. On 4/25/18 all 4 tires had multiple bubbles in sidewalls and required replacement. New tires with warranty were purchased from dealer. On 7/6/18 one tire was replaced under warranty. On 1/18/19 one tire was replaced with bubbles. On 3/24/19 3 tires were replaced with multiple bubbles in sidewalls. On 4/24/19 another tire was replaced with bubbles in sidewall. As a scientist I have difficulty believing that this IS just bad luck. This looks to me like poor engineering or a manufacturing defect. My tires were covered under warranty, and to this point my personal expense has been low. We have not had an actual blowout or accident. Nevertheless, I have safety concerns for myself and the general public. There must be something defective in these tires -- and before another person gets injured or killed from a blowout

I believe this IS the same problem as recall #18v370000 but my car IS not in list of recalled cars. with an adult in the passenger seat, a warning message says that the because of a malfunction, the air bags are turned off. A few seconds to a minute or two later another message says the air bags are on. this sequence can appear many times in an hour of driving or not appear at all for several days. I have verified with the dealer that when the message says the airbags are off, they really are off. so my passenger sometimes lacks the protection afforded by the air bags.

Airbag warning light comes on in dash and chime continuously goes off at various times (while stationary or driving) - with or without passenger in seat. Brought car to the dealership and they said the passenger side airbag needs to be 're-harnessed'. Also stated that until the repair IS done the light and chime will continue going off and the airbag IS at risk of not deploying in an accident. I am outside of my warranty and it IS not covered even though it IS a safety issue. It will cost about $300 to fix.

Later, I checked with the other dealer and they said the same thing. I had continental sportcontact 6 R02 bw 245/35r19 93Y tires. There must be something wrong with these tires or quality of these tires are really bad. Audi do not take responsibility as they say contact continental. Why would audi put such bad tires if they would not even last for 8000 miles?

Check engine light only came on once and that IS when the intake manifold detected a problem. Audi replaced the intake manifold two times after numerous service visits! The sputter, lag, occurs all the time I even recorded a video but was unable to be rectified.

After having this vehicle for 18 months the car began to freeze while backing uo. there are no objects, cars or humans anywhere around the vehicle when this occurs. the car was moving at a very low speed when all of a sudden the auto locks up and the brakes engage, you have to step on the brake in order to release the vehicle. this occurs while backing out of a parking space, my garage where there IS nothing near the vehicle. I have taken the car to audi 3 times and each time they tell me there IS nothing wrong with the vehicle. I have also contacted audi USA numerous times and was again told there IS nothing wrong with the vehicle . I contacted audi's executive offices as well.
- Service brakes

- Seat belts
While driving with the driver's seatbelt latched, I received a warning/reminder to fasten the seatbelt. After several seconds, the chime and warning message stopped. I took the vehicle into the dealership and they replaced the seatbelt receptacle.

After parking my car, my daughter, the passenger in the right back seat, opened the door to get out of the car. she suddenly felt acute pain on the top of her foot and saw blood gushing out of it. I went to her side of the car and saw an avulsion of the skin on the top right of the foot, and blood all over the floor of the car and the door. a sharp piece of metal trim labeled "bang & olufson" (see photo) had semi-detached from the door panel and lacerated her foot, piercing through her foot and coming out between her toes. this metal trim piece looked like a sharp knife blade, and had come out of its glued spot on the door, sticking out at a 25-30 degree angle. I put pressure on the wound and removed the piece from the car to prevent further injury, cutting myself in the process. It was covered with blood. I immediately drove her to the er at mercy hospital. Dr. Miller, a plastic surgeon, spent 2 hours cleaning the wound, pulling the flayed skin back to its original position, and stitching tendons and blood vessels that were affected in the injury. He placed continuous absorbable sutures the length of the wound. (See photo) she was discharged with orders not to walk or put any weight on the foot, except to go to the bathroom, for at least 3 weeks. The doctor told her she may lose the skin on the foot and may have to receive skin grafts to repair the wound. my daughter was in excruciating pain and it IS still unknown whether she will have permanent scarring or pain, or if she will regain full functioning of the foot. She has undergone a course of antibiotics and remained on bed rest for 30 days since the incident. the sharp metal blade was only glued on the door surface, with no screws to attach it to the door. This IS what appeared to cause this blade to detach from the door and stab into my daughter's foot.

Takata recall -- audi issued the recall in jan 2017 and still does not have replacement parts available. meanwhile, I am unable to take my wife or other family/friends anywhere in my car because I fear for their lives (based on the recall letter's warning of injury/death). I called audi of america twice, and they have not started sourcing parts. I called the dealership, and they have no received parts, nor have they replaced any takata airbags to date. it appears that even though a recall was issued, nothing IS happening.
