General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2024-2025 Buick Envista, 2024-2026 Buick Encore GX, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and 2025 Chevrolet Trax vehicles. The rearview camera screen may display a distorted or blank image.
A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 30, 2026. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM's number for this recall is A262554900. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 20, 2026.
About 4 weeks ago I began to notice my brakes grabbing and they have gotten worse. I read that there may be a glitch in the internal rod position sensor calibration within the Electronic Contact Module ( EBCM).I wasn’t told if they put car on computer to update / calibrate the module software. I read nothing in paper work I received that anything was done with my brakes. When I drove it home today the brakes grabbed. My biggest concern or scare is that I almost had a catastrophic head on collision. In addition to that I had 7 near misses. This happens when the car is hot or cold. My steering wheel will lock up and when steering wheel locks up, the car will swerve left or right and then right or left, sometimes crossing the center line. I have been aware my 2025 Chevy Trax LT, which cost me $31,000.00 just 6 months ago, brand new , was being recalled. But Wittmeier Chevy, the service technician said there was not a recall. I was dumb founded and I thought they were rude to me, like I didn’t know what I was talking about. The recall number is A262554903 is for the back-up camera recall. The service technician got my car and should me the lane assist button. I can tell you I never ever saw it on and when it’s on that’s when lane assist is on. One would think I would see it when I am at least night driving but I have not. I was told the lane assist can gently nudge a steering wheel , but it never locks up the wheel. I read it’s a severe mechanical steering rack or a lock - up in the steering column. I did ask for a loaner when I dropped off my car but I was told a”N0” which really bothered me 1) it was purchased just 6 months ago 2) new client 3) I read it’s a critical safety defect.i asked how many cars they sold in a month and was told 200, I bit my tongue and thought, wow, cheap sakes, no concern about my safety, I don’t want this car at ALL. All I see is more going wrong with it. I think they turned on that lane assist light. They can buy back my Chevy tomorrow

Back up camera has been inoperable since mid August 2026. It is now the end of October 2026. There is an active recall on the backup camera, but nothing has been resolved. I have taken the car to the dealership and they have told me that there is no fix as of now and they don’t have a date as to when it will be repaired. Seems very unsafe to drive a car without a backup camera not to mention I’m paying for this feature every month and it doesn’t work. The radio also cuts in and out. I believe that this fix is taking an unreasonable amount of time. I have not been involved in an accident, however, I feel very unsafe driving the car this way.

I was driving power steering message came on drive with care super scary wheel got stiffed and shut down turned back on drove stiff again luckily I did not hit car or car hit me and at the end it shut down super scary thank god im alive and my water pump broke
the car was being driven and started to slow down on its own and then completely shut down with the check engine light on. It was taken to an outside auto shop to have the battery checked, and the mechanic said it was the alternator. it was still within the 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty so I took it to the dealership. They claim the technician found the battery discharged once, but once the tested everything it functioned fine. It could have been from something left plugged into the USB port..... We are still waiting for the back up camera part that is part of a recall since 2025
On August 20, 2026, at approximately 7:54 AM during the daytime, I was driving approximately 5–9 mph up a dimly lit parking garage ramp, turning left into my usual parking spot for work on the ramp. My car’s front end had already cleared a cement column on my right, so I was pleasantly parking. Suddenly, the front-end collision assist malfunctioned, activating when it shouldn't have, and violently pushed my right front tire into the cement column, whipping the steering wheel around immediately fracturing the radius bone in my dominant right forearm. The impact was so sudden and forceful that I initially thought another vehicle had struck me from behind, but no vehicle was there and my rear bumper was undamaged. At the slow speed I was traveling while decelerating up a ramp and turned left, this wreck should've never happened and was unnecessarily severe. My new car sustained nearly $5,000 in damage, mostly due to the right front tire pushed far back into the wheel well, making the vehicle unsafe to drive. Despite my dashboard displaying multiple systems as disabled after the crash, the vehicle’s black box reportedly recorded no collision nor system failures. About a week and a half earlier, my entire dashboard had went black for an afternoon and did not return until the following morning. These events raise serious concerns about software or sensor malfunctions and the vehicle’s failure to record the crash. Chevy owners need to be aware of these potential safety concerns. I'm in the process of acquiring legal recourse.

I am having a problem with my brakes sticking. After it has been sitting all night, the brake pedal will be stiff and I’m unable to push it down much to start it. Once it’s started it thumps almost like the parking brake was set but I haven’t used it and I park on flat land. When I’m sitting in park, it’s idling as though I’m pushing the gas…the speed accelerates especially on curvy roads where I brake more frequently. The rotors have been scored for some time. Dealership blames it on them getting heated up. I drove to work and home 15 minutes each way. I’ve had a few long road trips but this scoring happened in a period without any long trips. Something isn’t right and I fear it’s going to push me into someone one day.
I am submitting this complaint regarding the rearview camera on my 2025 Trax, which has been inoperative since early 2026 & is now the subject of a recall. I contacted my dealership in March to have the rearview camera repaired. the part was on back order & I was advised that the repair could not be completed. The camera remains inoperative as of Sept 2026, more than six months after I initially attempted to have it repaired, I received the official recall on 9/22/26. I am particularly concerned about the length of time this known safety issue has remained unresolved. this vehicle is regularly driven by my daughter, who received her driver's license in July 2024. During the period in which the camera has been inoperative, she has been involved in two backing incidents. In one incident she backed into a pole in the school parking lot, causing damage to the vehicle. In another, the passenger-side mirror struck a mailbox while she was backing out of a driveway. I cannot establish that the absence of a functioning rearview camera caused either incident. However, both occurred while the vehicles camera was unavailable, depriving the driver of the rear visibility the system is designed to provide during backing maneuvers. I believe these incidents demonstrate the real-world safety concern created by operating this vehicle for an extended period without a functioning rearview camera. My concern is also that I attempted to have this defect corrected months before receiving the recall notice, but the necessary part was unavailable & remains unavailable. I have been required to continue operating a nearly new vehicle without an important safety feature despite making a timely effort to have the problem repaired. I am requesting NHTSA document this complaint, including the two backing incidents & review the unavailability of parts for the recall. I would also like GM to provide a prompt remedy so that the vehicle can be returned to its intended & compliant safety condition.
I own a 2025 Chevrolet Trax, VIN [XXX]. I am experiencing unusually high fuel consumption compared with the vehicle’s normal fuel economy. I am having to refuel significantly more frequently than expected. I am also experiencing a completely black rearview camera. I am requesting that both issues be documented as safety/defect complaints and investigated to determine whether they are related to known problems with this vehicle. Component that malfunctioned: loose Inner and outer tie rod end following repair preformed at a dealer on 8/20/2026. This component is essential for proper steering and if this would have failed while driving the joint can shear or free from the knuckle as the driver looses control of the steering. additionally, this sudden loss of control would have likely resulted in a serious if not fatal accident. I am an auto technician by trade at a independent repair shop, me and a fellow technician verified the inner and outer tie rod have more than 0.5mm of movement documented by video inspection, we removed the inner tie rod boot and uncovered the inner tie rod was not completely threaded into the rack, we completed threading it but the play is still present. This component was allegedly inspected and repaired on 8/20/26 with the return of clunking noise presenting on 9/3/26. I have not returned to this establishment. No warning lamps are illuminated, the only symptoms are a sharp suspension clunk and noise while turning right. the vehicle was returned to me in an unsafe condition by a known GM dealership. It is unknown to me the exact extent of the service as they did not provide me with any physical records as requested by me.
