To manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or fleetwood at 1-800-322-8216.
Certain diesel class a motor homes fail to comply with the requirements of part 567, "certification." the manufacturers' tow hitch receiver information label was printed with the incorrect weight carrying capacity value and the incorrect tongue weight value.
The weight label on the hitch receiver provides the maximum trailer weight rating and the maximum tongue weight rating. It IS important that these ratings not be exceeded. Failure to comply could result in damage to the motor home frame, body, or hitch receiver and could cause unstable driving and handling characteristrics which may result in a vehicle crash.
Fleetwood will mail owners the correct tow hitch receiver weight information label. If owners do not feel comfortable installing the label, dealers will install the label for them. the recall began august 4, 2005. owners may contact fleetwood at 800-509-3418.
Dual pane window seals rupture and dual pane windows become foggy and stained making visibilty terrible and unsafe. Especially can't see your mirrors. According to forums it appears to be a very common problem among fleetwood products.
TL* the contact owns a 2005 fleetwood expedition. While driving various speeds, the driver and passenger side windows retained moisture and caused a glare due to the sunlight. The failure occurred constantly. The motor home was not diagnosed nor repaired. The defogger feature failed to rectify the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
All se-gi made windows fogging up making it very dangerous; very hard to see.
While driving my fleetwood motorhome, I noticed an electrical odor. I looked toward the back of the coach and the rear bedroom was full of smoke. When I finally got the coach to a service center, it was determined that the exhaust system had a hole in it near the engine. The coach only had 32000 miles. The heat from the engine through the exhaust heated the electrical control box that IS immediately adjacent to the engine, the coating on the wiring melted and that resulted in an electrical fire. I feel that there IS a major design flaw that could result in bodily injury or death. *tr
Our drivers side window IS so fogged that it IS extremely dangerous for us to drive it .others have the fog as well, I am just disgusted with the fact it IS now so dangerous. I understand from other websites this has been a common problem with these windows. I do not understand with the price of these rv's how fleetwood would continue to use such defective windows and actually think the public will return to purchase another fleetwood product. *Tr
In the middle of the night in one place that I didn't have any light just the cars passing I had to stop because the engine failsafe mode was on. I stop to read the manual for to know what I have to do? After 20 min without leaving the car because I was alone I start driving again so slow to my house. *tr
We have called fleetwood in decatur in many times that the motor home windows in our 2005 fleetwood expedition are foggy. They just keep getting worse and now all 10 windows are foggy. They said they are not covered under our warranty. They will not help us. We are retired and on limited income. We do not know where to turn. *tr
Driver's side window fogged up because seal to thermal pane failed causing reduced vision to left side mirror on the coach. this creates a safety hazard because one IS unable to see traffic out left mirror especially when sun IS shining just right that creates a glare in the mirror.
TL* the contact owns a 2005 fleetwood expedition diesel rv. While driving approximately 55 mph, the contact noticed that the seals on the three windows on the driver side had failed causing air to seep into the vehicle through the windows. The contact stated that all the windows in the vehicle had the same failure except for the windshield. This also caused the window panes to become foggy and turn blue, making visibility difficult for the contact. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The company was taken over by new owners who advised that they would not be able to assist the contact with any repairs. The failure mileage was 28,000 and the current mileage was 31,000.
Leading up to the failure unknown. all the double pane windows have separated allowing moisture to form , causing a cloudy look and difficult to see the outside. this distortion IS a safety issue and hazardous, especially trying to see out the drivers side window . contacted the manufacture and was told they would not replace the windows. *Tr

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
This investigation was opened based on odi's receipt of a congressional letter on behalf of a constituent.the constituent reported incidents where the slide out room of his motor home would inadvertently move (extend) during highway use.odi was concerned that a fully extended slide out would degrade the vehicle's dynamic handling characteristics and/or possibly impact an object or another vehicle, resulting in a crash.odi contacted fleetwood and discovered that slide out rooms were installed in motor homes, travel trailers and folding trailers. As part of the investigation odi visited a rv show and the fleetwood paxinos plant to examine slide outs in various new make and model vehicles and gain an understanding of how the systems work.during the investigation odi learned that there are two methods used to extend slide out rooms.some manufacturers use hydraulic systems and others, such as fleetwood, use an electric motor.
