50784Many manual transmissions that are replaced/repaired under warranty and returned to the wprc show signs of improper/lack of maintenance or misdiagnosis.
46478The use of petroleum-based grease as a lubricant in servicing disc brakes IS no longer acceptable because it may be incompatible with the rubber material used in the disc brake system. If petroleum-based grease IS used to lubricate any part of the disc brake system, it could cause rubber parts to swell if lubricant contacts the rubber material.
46477The engine coolant temp gauge may read on the cold side of the normal range, or may stay below normal even though the engine IS at its proper operating temp on some vehicles. This IS caused by the coolant temp sending unit not being positioned in the main stream of coolant flow. Install a new temp sender fitting.
46476Hard starting or a no start concern may occur on some vehicles. This may be due to diesel fuel draining out of the fuel injection system back into the fuel tank. This condition causes the injection system to lose its prime which leads to longer starter engagement times for engine shutdown period. Install a diesel fuel check valve (f5hz-9285-aa) on the fuel return line at the rear of the engine.
46446On f/b series w/ fd 1060 engine there may be a concern regarding insuffi- cient in-cab heat. To resolve this, the current thermostat can be replaced with a new low leak thermostat. The needed parts are available from cummis engine. Refer to tsb 95-20-12.
