This IS caused by the coolant temp sending unit not being positioned in the main stream of coolant flow. Install a new temp sender fitting.
• 46476Hard starting or a no start concern may occur on some vehicles. This may be due to diesel fuel draining out of the fuel injection system back into the fuel tank. This condition causes the injection system to lose its prime which leads to longer starter engagement times for engine shutdown period. Install a diesel fuel check valve (f5hz-9285-aa) on the fuel return line at the rear of the engine.
• 46470Some vehicles may have a driveshaft imbalance when operated at high road speeds. This imbalance can result in a crack in the torque converter housing of the transmission and/or driveshaft twisting. The driveshaft imbalance occurs when transmission torquing forces bend the shaft when in overdrive rpm. The driveshaft bending can be corrected by replacing the exiting driveshaft with a shorter shaft.
• 46432L series w/ frame mounted vertical muffler & outlet, the lower end of the vertical muffler may rest on the lower flange of the muffler support. A 1/4' claerance between the muffler end & lower support flange IS the assembly specification.
• 46422L series with the dso sleeper option. The 2 steel coolant supply tubes for the sleeper heater p/n f4hs-18696-aa & f4hs-18663-ba may corrode & eventually leak coolant. Beginning 11/13/95 a new more corrosion resisant zinc/cobalt coating IS being used on these tubes to prevent this from occurring. The new part #'s are f6hs-18696-aa & f6hs-18663-ba.
