While towing my 2026 Grand Design Momentum 27MAV travel trailer at highway speeds, the driver's-side exterior siding/wall panel began separating and bulging outward from the sidewall. I was later informed the siding attachment system had failed and the unit required significant warranty repairs.…
While towing my 2026 Grand Design Momentum 27MAV travel trailer at highway speeds, the driver's-side exterior siding/wall panel began separating and bulging outward from the sidewall. I was later informed the siding attachment system had failed and the unit required significant warranty repairs. Because this defect occurred while traveling on a public roadway, I am concerned that exterior components could detach and create a hazard for other motorists. The RV was less than one year old when the failure occurred. Additional defects involving floor buckling and moisture intrusion later required factory-level inspection and repairs. I request that NHTSA investigate whether this sidewall attachment failure represents a broader manufacturing defect affecting other Grand Design RV units.
