2005 w 20 workhorse rv. Bosch brake system. Brakes locked up. Vehicle stranded. After cool down, could drive about a mile before lock up again. Took 4.5 hours using this procedure to get back home. Rv went in for repairs but center would only replace one caliper. Same thing happened again this weekend and rv IS now back at repair center. I am afraid to drive it & block traffic. They refuse to replace all 4 brake calipers at one time. They say I must drive until break down occurs then call them during business hours-m-f 8-5. *tr
While driving on florida turnpike a short distance from home experienced vibration in right front wheel pulled over and determined that the right front brake was extremely hot with the distinctive odor of hot brakes. The other wheels also were warm .determined that the right front was locked up. After cooling off made it to a local reliable repair shop with the ABS light on. Workhorse caliper located and seven days later the right front caliper pads brake line hose replaced. The shops computer analyzer could not clear the codes and at that time I directed by workhorse to proceed to a workhorse dealer . The dealer determined that the three remaining wheels had also sustained extreme heat damage with the ABS sensors melted off the other wheels and the calipers needing replacement. The vehicle awaiting repair of the other three calipers. The replaced caliper should be available. *tr
We own a 05 holiday rambler motor home. Admiral model with a18000 lbs chassis. with very poor braking. I have spoke to my holiday rambler dealer numerous time about the problem, I have been told that this problem IS common for this chassis. it has been to a work horse dealer twice first time they replace a rear caliper, which didn't didn't help. Then to another dealer, they said that it was consistent to a four wheel disc system, a technician stated that they have experienced this before. I spoke to the tech support of work horse, they stated the proper way to brake a motor was the continually pump the brakes, a steady pressure on the brakes will cause the brakes to fade. they will no longer help. *nm
