I have a 1997 holiday rambler class a 32' motorhome on a chevrolet P30 chassis. the auto park feature fails without warning. this feature clamps the drive shaft of the motorhome and IS the only way to hold the motorhome from moving. this IS a poor design. the clamping shoes are located directly behind the transmission and if a drop or two of fluid seeps out, the clamping shoes can not hold the motorhome. it's free to roll away. I've had the rear transmission seal replaced to correct this problem. since that time, and without warning the motorhome will roll away when parked. chevrolet contacted me in the fall of 2004 with a mailing indicating that the park feature needs to be adjusted twice a year. this IS not satisfactory. if a the clamping pads come in contact with transmission fluid, they will not hold the motorhome. if I put the rv in park and exit the vehicle, it can, and has rolled away. I've resorted to using wheel chocks to hold the motorhome from rolling away. *jb
