Risk and remedy
Risk
An incorrectly installed air bag inflator may not properly deploy the passenger frontal air bag in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inflator installation and, if necessary, replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly, free of charge. The recall began July 5, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are M4O, P4R, T4Q, and W4P.

Risk and remedy
Risk
An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the inflator, free of charge. The recall began March 2017. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall is KA4, KA5, KA6, and KA7.

My car started to overheat on the way home from work. Took it to a shop, they told that my engine block was cracked but it was a manufacturing defect from honda. Took it to the honda dealership and they said the 10 year warranty ext passed and they can't do anything about it. My car currently only has about 73,500 miles and now they want me to pay 2500-5000 for fix a problem that was from manufacturing defect. That should be a recall and a problem honda needs to fix.

Takata recall the engine (cylinder) block may leak engine coolant, resulting in engine overheating.

TL* the contact owns a 2006 honda civic GX. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The vin was unknown. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Front Passenger?s Airbag Inflator Can Be Over-Pressurized, 14-045, Recall: Front Driver?s Airbag Inflator May Produce Excessive Pressure After Long-Term Exposure to High Absolute Humidity Recall, and 14-046, Recall: Front Passenger?s Airbag Inflator May Produce Excessive Pressure After Long-Term Exposure to High Absolute Humidity have been posted to ISIS. However, due to the large number of affected units, American Honda is still in the process of populating the VIN status inquiry function on iN, which is expected to take several days. When this process is complete, American Honda will notify all dealers again via iN message. Until that time, the existing acknowledgement procedure must be used for all potentially affected vehicles.

Check for aftermarket spark plugs that include a built-in capacitor; they can cause electrical interference that can set this dtc. If the engine has that type of spark plugs, swap them with a set of the recommended spark plugs. Then, clear the dtc and retest. If the dtc doesnt come back, youve found the problem. Let the service advisor know so he or she can contact your customer for direction. But if it does come back . . . Then continue with normal system troubleshooting."
