Complete and sudden clutch failure and unable to shift into any gear. No clutch slippage or change in engage point/clutch burning smell. Was traveling at relatively low speed (35mph). Dealership tried to get me to tell my insurance company it was due to water damage and then quoted me almost $7,000 to replace the clutch.

over the course of a year I get a "Transmission system error! Check Transmission oil Immediately" message. happened on April 15 2025, again June 20 2025 but car went into limp mode and did not go into 2nd and 4th gear. June 30 2025 went to dealership where ecu was reflashed. The problem went away but then came back on July 26 2025. Dealership could not see me during 2 weeks and by then message error cleared on its own. July 1 2026 message came on again and check engine light came on. Car again did not go into 2 and 4th gear and ended up stop moving. after leaving car off briefly and starting it back up and was drivable. Check engine light came on and I was able to plug in a reader and get code P0868. July second went to dealer and when car was driven into bay light went away. No scan was done to obtain code that was stored and dealer will not look at it. Escalated it to consumer affairs and they will not assist either. These are all symptoms from Recall 236 where the electric oil pump fails and puts my safety at risk.
- Engine
Fuel injector randomly went out, I dont have the HPFP recall done on my car. Caused a massive amount of power loss while I was going down the road. Now hyundai wants to pretend like the HPFP had nothing to do with this. I keep being told its an emission part and isnt covered under powertrain warranty. Recall in question is Extension Z04 (TSB 25-FL-002H).
- Electrical system · Exterior lighting
Faulty light switch that causes headlights to go on and off at night. Sometimes headlights will shut off completely and not come back on or vise versa staying on and draining the battery. Faulty switch cause complete loss of headlight control. Numerous others have reported the same issue online across all elantras in a certain year range as well as other models.

In Elantra N, the plastic piece (splash guard) under the engine is prone to coming loose and/or coming off while driving. This has happened to me and many many others. Its poorly manufactured, and fasteners (push pins) are really cheap. Part # should be 29110-IB000 The warranty doesn't cover this. This reddit thread has many people reporting same issue. Still there's no recall or TSB: [XXX] People are saying stuff like: "I was driving and the undercarriage guard just fell off. I ended up having to rip broken pieces off and zip tie the rest because I was in the middle of nowhere." Another person- "2022, during the next service the Hyundai mechanics went “Haha yeah, I’ve heard that happens…” and proceeded to do nothing about it." Another person- "Oh boy, this has been a sore spot for me... Mine came damaged when I bought the car, went through hell confirming part numbers, sourcing who had it cheapest (ended up being the dealer because all 3rd party Hyundai part sites want insane shipping for this), finally get it on, just for the same exact experience to happen at 75-80mph... Thought a tire was about to let go as the sound got more violent then CRACK. Realized what it was, then a second chunk broke off, and watched it almost boomerang into the car behind me 🤦♂️." For reference [XXX] n This causes part to drag and come off also causing potential harm to other vehicles. Could you make Hyundai recall this or something to come up with a better solution to this part ? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
- Fuel/propulsion system
I had the recall completed for my Fuel Pump. The fuel pump is still not functioning properly as sometimes it does still struggle to start as sometimes it will turn over and take 5-7 seconds to start the car.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Elantra N. The contact stated while driving 40–50 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The vehicle went into LIMP Mode while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V528000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, where it was diagnosed that a software update to the fuel pump was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The dealer informed the contact that the fuel pump would not be replaced until the fuel pump had failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer again, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel injector had failed. The codes reference the fuel pump, and Oxygen sensor. There were pressure failures, and the engine was running rich. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted, and opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

I was driving on the highway, got a flat tire. The second my tire popped. I started getting a few lights on my dashboard abs, forward safety light, limited differential light, blind spot light, rear cross traffic light. Worst of them all is a red steering wheel light which makes the vehicle difficult to steer. This is a new car with under 20k miles and it’s a lease. After the tire was replaced the lights are still on and the car is still non drivable.

I had 4 warning signs appear while driving in show. Those 4 warnings were Forward Collision Warning, rear cross traffic warning, Cruise control warning, vehicle stability control warning. They were simply not working. After driving for around 5-10 minutes, my steering gradually became very heavy making it difficult to steer. I had to pull over to the side eventually. Controlling the steering wheel put my safety and others at risk. The problem was confirmed by a dealer and they have mentioned it was due to an ABS sensor. No the parts were not inspected by the manufacturer, police, or the insurance companies. Yes the warning lights of 4 error appeared before the steering wheel became heavy.

The car is a ticking time bomb and dangerous to the public. My car has stalled and broke down in the highway several times. Had to wait for 3-6 hours tow trucks in between. The latest one, I reported to the service advisor that my car stalled all of a sudden at a neighborhood. She told me they didn't find any error codes therefore there is nothing wrong with the car. I was also told to keep driving it till it breaks down and only come back to them when that happens. Lo and behold not even 3 days later on Christmas night it broke down on me and had to wait in the middle of the highway in between the highway and on ramp. Had to wait several hours in the cold as the car would not start for a tow truck to come. After dropping off the Vehicle at the same dealership again it will be almost 4 days and they have not touched the car since. They don't know what's wrong with it because it doesn't show an error code on their GDS scanning tool. Now it wont even scan because the car will not start. Therefore they don't know how to fix it. Rather than trying to look for the source of the issue, they only replace the damaged parts caused by the issue. Same exact scenario happened back in September, car broke down on the highway, 6+ hour wait for a tow truck, the service advisor said the Catalytic Converter melted and they just went to replace that and not what led up to that issue. The stalling has happened several times, I would lose all power and just coast to the side of the road with check engine, battery, oil light, everything on, on the dash and if the onboard Bluelink system does not get a code then the service center will not know what to do with the car. They heavily rely on the error code before they can attempt to do anything to the vehicle. My ODB scanner shows me all the DTC codes but the dealership just brushes it off and doesn't listen to the customer. I keep telling them you don't get fouled spark plugs and melted catalytic converter if there's no issues.
- Electrical system
My horn has ceased functioning. I have seen in forums this is a very common issue.
- Power train
8 speed DCT shudders and is sluggish to engage when starting from a stop.
- Seat belts
There is a recall on this vehicle, but Hyundai is prioritizing new, unsold cars over cars that are currently in use. It has been several months since the recall was announced, and I have seen many, many unsold cars repaired so that they could be sold, but haver yet to hear of any cars on the road and in use that have been repaired. Hyundai is prioritizing profits over the safety of their owners.

Service bulletins
Technical service bulletins and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about this vehicle. Ask a dealer for the full document by its number.
- 11012045Certain Elantra N (CN7 N), Kona N (OS N), and Veloster N (JS N) vehicles may have DTC P1326 set due to water intrusion in the knock sensor connector during heavy rain or car wash conditions. There is no abnormal engine noise present, and the vehicle may enter limp home mode.
- 11011843N Vehicles are designed to maximize dynamic steering performance. In normal Ackerman steering geometry, the inner front tire turns more than the outer tire to help cornering in low-speed situations, i.e., parking lot maneuvering or sharp U-turns. N vehicles have a steering geometry optimized for performance driving. The N vehicles steering angle difference between the front wheels is reduced to enhance cornering performance. While this helps in high performance driving conditions, it can cause a higher level of tire side scrub that may create a slow shudder or vibration while turning at full steering lock. The feel is similar to turning a 4WD vehicle on dry asphalt when locked in 4WD. This shudder or vibration at parking lot speeds is normal, and no repairs should be performed. Additionally, the summer tires on the N vehicles can make the shudder or vibration more pronounced in cold ambient conditions.
- 11009770Certain vehicles equipped with a 2.0L T-GDI Theta II engine may exhibit one or more misfire DTCs due to the injectors leaking internally. This may be caused by internal filter breakage in the injector. Follow the procedure in this TSB to replace all 4 injectors on affected vehicles, using the kit in the Parts Information section.
- 11008008A software update is available for multiple vehicles equipped with either Display Audio 2.0V or the AVN 5th Gen Wide system.
- 11007485A software update is available for multiple vehicles equipped with either Display Audio 2.0V or the AVN 5th Gen Wide system.

- 10251285This bulletin contains information about the proper removal of the windshield wiper blade protective cover on all models. If the protective cover is not removed correctly, there is a possibility of the rubber insert and rail spring becoming partially separated on the inner side of the wiper blade, which could lead to poor wiping performance and/or possible scratching of the windshield glass. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to properly remove the windshield wiper blade protective cover on all new wiper blades.
- 10247189This bulletin provides important checkpoint guidelines when performing engine oil and filter change services.
- 10237183This bulletin provides service procedures to prevent possible moisture intrusion of the HP EOP (High Flow Electric Oil Pump) connector when servicing the 8-speed wet dual clutch transmission (8WDCT). If moisture enters the HF EOP connector, this can result in corrosion and insufficient connection of the terminals.
- 10235566Hyundai applies a Paint Protection Film (PPF) on new vehicles before delivery to dealerships. It provides a barrier between the paint and contaminants, such as rail dust, acid rain, and industrial fallout. In rare cases, the paint can become clouded under the PPF. These spots are the result of moisture trapped between the PPF and the paint.
- 10230904This bulletin provides information regarding condensation related to the accumulated moisture in the headlamp, rear combination lamp, daytime running lamp (DRL), or fog lamp. This TSB illustrates the various causes of condensation inside the lamp assembly. Lamp assembly replacement is NOT necessary in most cases. This condition can be eliminated by turning on the lamps with the engine running for several minutes or during normal driving operation.
- 10225459This bulletin outlines changes to the service manual regarding the replacement of 8-speed dual clutch transmissions (DCT) and associated transmission control module (TCM). Additional steps, not in the service manual, are required within GDS prior to replacing the DCT/TCM, otherwise drivability concerns and/or DTCs may occur.
