I was slowly pulling into parking place in front of school. Person in car next to space I was pulling into confirmed this). The car seemed to accurate on it’s own. (Person in car confirmed). Absolutely no warning lights or beeps went off. It did not brake. It jumped the curb and hit stump that must have made it veer left into light pole. Collision place towed and inspected. State Farm adjuster also. Insurance totaled it. I tried to get so called black box out but collision repair didn’t have ability.
The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the transmission failed to shift into drive(D) or reverse(R) after the START/STOP button was pressed. The contact stated that when the transmission was shifted into neutral(N), the vehicle unexpectedly moved. The contact's spouse researched how to start and move the vehicle after the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.
"The vehicle is exhibiting a refueling safety defect due to EVAP venting failure. This is a known issue on Hyundai hybrid platforms. The dealership only tries to duplicate the issue and as it is intermittent has not been able to duplicate. I have a brand new vehicle that leaves me stranded at the pump every third or fourth time trying to refuel.
Windshield cracking spontaneously. Starting at the bottom. Car parked in garage. Not caused by any impact.
The seatback in my third row was reclined and failed to return to an upright position when attempted to be folded. Additionally, I observed that the belt buckle was damaged, which resulted in a cut wire within the buckle mechanism. Safety concern: It is strictly prohibited to permit any individual to occupy the third row. The vehicle remains under the custody of the dealership and its service department. Despite having possession of the vehicle for two months, no replacement or acquisition of the required part has been completed. No warnings or messages about the buckle.
I was on the highway and I hit the Cruise Control to engage “smart adaptive cruise control.” I received a warning light that said “Conditions for smart cruise control not met.” The car immediately began to decelerate. I could see that the light for the cruise control was still on. I hit the cruise control button again to turn it off- and it kept giving the same warning again and again (noted above). Meanwhile, the car was beginning to decelerate rapidly. I went from 65mph to 35mph in a matter of seconds while on the highway. I immediately put on my hazards and made my way to the shoulder where I stopped the car, restarted it, and was able to resume driving normally without incidence. I am not using cruise control anymore until this is resolved.
While driving my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, the vehicle has repeatedly applied the brakes suddenly and without warning, especially approaching a specific overpass on my normal route and is fully repeatable. This only happens in the curb lane; the middle and passing lanes are fine. There is no forward collision warning, no detected obstacle, and no driver input when this happens. The braking is abrupt enough to feel unsafe and could cause a rear‑end collision. In addition to the phantom braking, the infotainment screen frequently reboots or goes completely blank while driving (blank 1 time). This causes loss of navigation, audio controls, and vehicle settings. The screen failure happens randomly and has occurred during normal driving. See video link here: [XXX] I reported the screen issue to my local Hyundai dealer (Crestmont Hyundai, Brunswick, OH), but they refused to document the complaint and told me to “wait for a recall.” They would not record the incident or investigate the problem. Both issues continue to occur and pose a safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
