The supplemental air bag warning light came on the dashboard. My local mechanic coded it at B1018, occupant sensor failure. At his suggestion, I brought it to a Nissan dealership (Infiniti is over an hour away from where I live.). They indicated I need to replace both seat sensor and OCS module. They say the seat must be replaced. Checking the Internet, there is a recent recall for Infiniti air bag problems. I contend that if that same system was used in 2011, a recall of that year should exist. In addition, there are many similar issues reported on the Internet.

While car was in operation, Intelligent Key System warning light came on (yellow "KEY" light). After turning off car engine, car will no longer start up. Key fob locks and unlocks doors, but car will not start. Prior to this incident there were no indications of a problem, no wornings. Upon investigation and research, the issue is related to a "Steering Lock Failure", and is widely known for years by other owners, repair shops, and Nissan and Infiniti. Nissan has addressed the issue by recalling and repairing the failure, however Infiniti has ignored the issue even though it is the same part (and same company). Infiniti must be made to repair the failure, as Nissan has done.

While enrooted to work my vehicle just shut off unexpectedly. I had the vehicle towed to nearest mechanic shop and they could not find out why my vehicle stopped, then the vehicle started back up and I drove the vehicle home. A few days later on my way to work again, my vehicle would not start at all. I had AAA come out to try and start the vehicle thinking that it was a dead battery, but I was told that the battery was in good shape. A few days later my vehicle started once again, so I took it to another mechanic shop and was informed that it was possibly the key fob, then the vehicles onboard computer. They proceeded to troubleshoot the vehicle thinking that this maybe the issue, then the vehicle would not start once again. It was not any of the issues that they thought. The vehicle was taken to the dealership to find out what was going on for sure. I was then informed that it was possibly the steering wheel lockbox since the dashboard yellow key light is lighting up as well, and that this is a known issue for sure with the 2011 Infiniti G25 and Nissan vehicles. They informed me that the cost would be well over $1500; this is funds that I do not have. I have been stranded while driving stranded on the road multiple times. This is unacceptable for sure.

I was having gas mileage issues and had an engine light come on one day. I checked it for it to come up with mass air flow sensor code. I had them replaced. Once I replaced them I noticed I still had the light and mileage issues. I did some research and found out you need to reprogram the sensors at a dealership after replacement. I scheduled an appointment at Infiniti of Akron and they reprogrammed them. I left and a couple hours of driving later the acceleration is worse and mileage is bad. The engine light comes back on. I call back they check my ECU and said I was missing an update. They couldn’t do the update due to their systems being down at the time and told me they would call me when they were ready. I left to head home. I hopped on the highway towards my house. After about 10 minutes of driving my car begins to slow down to a complete halt and stalls right in rush hour traffic. I had no where to safely pull over. There was no shoulder available due to construction. I immediately called 911 to assist me to get an emergency tow. I eventually ended up being rear ended by a car. A fire lieutenant stayed with me for about 2 hours to ensure I was safe until the tow showed. This was a terrifying incident and should be noted. People need to be warned their is an intake volume learn problem with the ECU of these vehicle. People could be killed. I was lucky.

This happened 9.03.19. I ran some errands then proceeded to head home. Everything was fine. I was parked for about 2.5 hours when I went back to my car. It let me in as usual so I didn't think anything was a miss. However, when I tried to start it. It didn't start. I tried changing the battery on the intelligent key fob and nothing. On the dash was yellowish key light appeared every time I tried to turn the car on. I took it to my mechanic and he originally thought it was the battery because the light didn't come on. He tried to give it a boost and still nothing. We brought it to the shop and it turned out to the steering lockbox. this issue could cause someone to be in a dangerous situation. Luckily I was home, however, I could have been anywhere with my 5 yr old child. I was not prepared for anything to go wrong as I received no indicators that something was wrong. I keep up with all maintenance on my car because I rely on it to get me to point a and so on along with my precious cargo with me. I called infiniti and check this website to check for recalls and nothing was listed.

After normal use, and with no warning indications, the vehicle failed to start after being parked. it was observed that the steering wheel failed to lock, and the intelligent key indicator illuminated from the dash when the push-button ignition was pressed. according to the 2011 infiniti g owner's manual, when the intelligent key indicator light appears, it indicates a malfunction with the electrical steering lock system or the intelligent key system indicator. the vehicle had to be towed to the infiniti dealer, and the defective steering lock had to be replaced, in order to return the vehicle back into an operable state. this mechanical defect poses a safety risk to unexpected vehicle owners, as it could leave them immobile in insecure surroundings, and prevent them from reaching immediate help when threatened or harassed, and in the event of emergencies, medical conditions or adverse weather conditions. what IS more disturbing, IS that infiniti IS aware of the steering lock defect. this IS evident from the numerous complaints of infiniti owners, published on the nhtsa website, consumer advocacy websites, online forums, message boards, and social networks. in addition, nissan (infiniti's parent company) addressed this problem with a voluntary service campaign on specific my2009-10 nissan altima, altima coupe, altima hybrid, and maxima vehicles, with the replacement of the existing electronic steering column lock (escl) with an electronic steering column box (escb). however, infiniti (the luxury division of nissan) has refused to take ownership of this known defect with their steering lock and will not make corrective actions on the behalf of their customers to ensure the quality and safety of their product.

• 10149803Infiniti USA Electronic Field Communication Subject: Takata Completion Objectives for Q3 INFINITI is continuing to ask its retailers to urgently help increase customer participation in the Takata recalls to help it achieve 100% customer recall participation for the following vehicles: ? 2001 I30 ? 2002-04 I35 ? 2003-08 FX ? 2002-03 QX4 ? 2006-10 M Sedan INFINITI expects to upload the next refreshed owner list to DBS within the next week. We will also be reassigning VINs to retailers based on information changes. We didn?t reassign any VINs in Q2 to avoid any mid-quarter objective impact. If VINs were repaired out of network, the retailer/region with the original assignment received credit for the repair. This is an extremely serious safety issue and INFINITI is taking significant and unprecedented steps to increase client recall participation but it needs retailer help to achieve its remedy goals. A separate communication will be released later this month informing regional personnel of the requirements for bonus payout in Q3 and Q2 results. The Q3 objective is based on the average number of repairs in Q2 multiplied by the number of service days in Q3 (Mon-Sat minus any holidays). Retailer engagement is critical with this effort. It is a company-wide responsibility to make it a priority to replace these dangerous airbag inflators in affected vehicles. Further, increasing recall participation represents significant gross profit opportunity for our retailers.
• 10149802Infiniti USA Electronic Field Communication Subject: Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report Lists Updated The lists for each retailer?s Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report has been updated today in DBS. We made our best effort to reassign vehicles to retailers based on the most recent owner information we received. The complexity of filtering out brokers (banks, salvage yards, and insurance companies) and reassigning VINs based on updated owner information affected over 123K records between INFINITI and Nissan, so we are unable to summarize the changes at a regional or retailer level. We suggest the retailers download their lists and have their outbound call centers compare information if necessary. If you have questions, please let us know. Additionally, we will have some enhancements coming in DBS effective November 17, 2018: Owner Data Updates (NNA side): 1. VIN, Campaign Code, and Source are the unique fields 2. Compare all fields except Remove Flag and Comments to see if there is a difference. a. If there is same VIN, Camp ID, and Source and all other fields are also the same then the record will be updated without changing Remove Flag and Comment field b. If there is same VIN, Camp ID, and Source and any other field is different, then the record will be inserted, in this case Remove Flag and Comment field will be blank as this is new record. The remove flag is being removed so the retailer will understand the information they previously flagged for removal has been updated and should be tried again before reapplying the removal flag. c. The retailer benefit of A & B above is duplicate records for the same VIN, Camp ID, and information source with the same customer contact information will no longer display in DBS on the Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report.
• 10145541DBS Enhancement: Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report INFINITI announced the availability of a new DBS enhancement tool to the Service > Campaign screen: Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report on July 9, 2018, which identifies owner contact information for specific campaigns. The following personnel will have access to this tool: - Retailer: Dealer Principal, Executive Managers, General Managers, Parts/Service Managers, and/or Parts/Service Directors - Regions: Regional Aftersales Manager (RAM), Regional Operations Managers (ROM), Fixed Operations Manager (FOM), Dealer Operation Managers (DOM), Regional Service Operation Managers (RSOM), and Client Experience Managers (CEM) The report can be viewed on screen or exported to Microsoft Excel and identifies the following: - VIN - Campaign ID & Campaign Description - Model & Model Year - Data Source o Up to three data sources can be provided for each VIN - RO Info: If this VIN has visited an Infiniti retailer anywhere in the U.S. within the last twelve months, the RO information will be displayed. - Campaign Mailing List: This is DMV data for the VIN listed - Marketing List: If an owner is on your marketing list, their contact information from that list will be displayed here. DMV data is not used for marketing list owner information. - Contact Name - Last Name/First Name & Address (City, State, Zip) - Phone (1-3) & Email (1-3) - Remove Flag o This defaults to ?N? unless the retailer or INFINITI USA flags this VIN for removal. o The removed information will still show on the DBS screen and exported report, but can be filtered on the exported file to only display the records with ?N? in this column.
