Nissan North America, Inc. (INFINITI) is recalling certain 2011-2013 M56, 2012-2013 M35 Hybrid, 2014-2018 Q50, Q70 Hybrid, 2014-2019 Q70, and 2015-2019 Q70L two-wheel drive vehicles. The driveshaft can fatigue and break.
Risk and remedy
Risk
A broken driveshaft can result in a loss of drive power, or a vehicle roll away when the vehicle is in park without the parking brake applied. Both scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the driveshaft, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 13, 2024. Owners may contact INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. INFINITI's numbers for this recall are R24A5 and R24A7.

Risk
If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.
Remedy
Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger airbag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.
Remedy
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began on April 14, 2014. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

The disablement of the steering systems could result in a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Nissan notified owners and arranged to have vehicles towed to the nearest Infiniti retailer. Customers were instructed not to drive their vehicles until they were repaired. Infiniti retailers provided affected customers with loaner vehicles, while the software update remedy was applied. These services were provided at no cost to the customer. Owners may contact Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.

On April 2nd I took my vehicle into the dealer for recall servicing. After leaving the dealer I had my vehicle inspected the next day by a third party repair shop and my brake caliper was missing the main bolt that connects to the brake pad. Brake pads were also less than 5% wear remaining. Myself and others were put in serious danger if my brakes had failed due to this serious oversight and disregard. My suspension also was unsafe in the rear but the dealer carried out a multi point inspection stating everything passed.

My car was driving along and all of a sudden the steering wheel got extremly tight and the car was hard to steer, I had to pull over turn the car off and the light was still on, I was like 2 miles away from my house, talking to a neighbor that has same car different year, stated to check recall his call did the samething years ago when we had a cold (low temperature) winter and it was replaced by infiniti dealer. I never had any issue with this car until now.it's been really cold. Also this car has issues when it rains, it doesn't want to start, I have check out many videos stating the sunroof leaks or tubes for sunroof gets clogged and leaks into the bcm or ecm system causes damage and dash lights. Im not a mechanic but I know that this IS something infiniti/nissian should highly look into. Just a girl,but I know multiple people shouldn't be posting the same concerns on their cars and it's not being looked into

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel felt loose and made an abnormal knocking sound while making a turn. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to manually move the steering column from underneath the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who retrieved DTC: C1130 and C1138. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure could be related to the steering column, but a more detailed inspection of the steering system was needed to confirm the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 73,850.

Car is showing a p0720 code which is an issue with the valve body. The car will not go past 3rd gear. This is a known problem with this vehicle. Infiniti is not issuing a recall. The car won't run and the consumer is having to foot the bill for the repair when they know it's an issue with the vehicle and the transmission.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the message "No Key Detected" was displayed. The contact waved the key fob around the START/STOP button, and the message ceased. The contact stated that the light around the START/STOP button was orange, but was green before the failure. One day, while driving the vehicle, the engine failed to shut off after shifting into park(P) and pressing the START/STOP button. The contact made several attempts to turn off the vehicle. The message to "Visit the Dealer" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics before finding a mechanic who was able to turn off the vehicle by removing the starter fuse. The mechanic advised the contact to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer performed a water test and discovered that there was a leak in the sunroof, which had caused the failure. The mechanic discovered that water had leaked through the firewall in the body control module (BCM), causing the failure. The contact was provided with an estimate, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that after the repair, while the vehicle was idling, the vehicle intermittently jerked. There was no warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Front and middle crossmember rusted out to the point they have no more structural effects issues discovered while fixing a know issue to these models : rusted out and leaking engine and transmission oils pans I had confirmation from the dealership and other independent repair shop that leaking oils pans are common for those models and can cause engine and transmission failure. For the crossmembers they are important structural components that directly affect suspension/direction and drivetrain secureness. If the plastic shrouds/cover are not taken off during inspection those issues will goes undetected until one of them reaches failure

The contact stated that the warning light was also present while a passenger was seated in the seat. The contact used a diagnostic scanner to identify an abnormal voltage to the passenger’s side air bag sensor. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 36,000.

The transmission Valve Assembly Control Module and Vehicle Speed Sensors have both failed. The car will not shift out of 2nd gear and cannot go faster than 40 mph. This is a safety issue. I had my car inspected by a certified mechanic and he diagnosed the problem. He also stated that that he has seen this a lot with Infinitis. I have maintained my car well but this is Not a maintenance issue. There are thousands of infiniti owners online stating that they had the exact same problem. I filed a case with Infiniti #52260861. This is a design flaw with All Infiniti cars and SUV's and it should be a Recall or at a minimum fixed for free by Infiniti. It cost me $3,500 to have my car fixed and this should be paid by Infiniti to me and all other Infiniti owners with this same problem.

While driving and using the air conditioning system coming out of the vents, the drivers side windows fog up and cannot be cleared with a rag or paper towel. This causes the drivers side windows to become heavily congested causing it virtually impossible to see out of the window and look into the drivers side mirror causing a major blind spot. This is especially troubling in the warmer weather. I’ve avoided two accidents because of the the blind spots this creates not being able to see out of the drivers side window and trying to look into the drivers side mirror to see if the left lane is safe to merge into to.

Transmission will not shift out of 3rd gear. I was driving down the freeway in 7th gear doing 75mph when all of sudden the transmission threw itself into 2nd gear then to 3rd. It felt like I was driving over a very large boulder and my transmission was being ripped out from under the car. Then my check engine light came on. So I had it towed home. I went for a test drive and the car will shift 1st, 2nd then 3rd but won’t go to 4th. It just stays in 3rd, it doesn’t slow down, it continues to rise in rpm and speed but won’t go out of 3rd gear. It also will not go into the manual shift mode either. I have read online about thousands of others with the same exact transmission having the same exact problem. I almost was not able to control my car so it most definitely is a big safety issue. I had autozone run a scan on it and it popped up all of these codes. My dash had zero warning lights at all before the incident happened.

Traction Control did not function when needed. I had my breaks and rotors replaced two days prior to the accident, which may have had an impact on the performance of the vehicle. Insurance representatives did look over the vehicle, as it is now in their possession. However, I do not feel as though they took the time to look into my concerns. There was no warnings on the Dash.

Unknown- Vehicle left the highway and crashed into a tree in a ravine and then was fully engulfed in flames. Both occupants were DOA after the fire was put out.

- 102272513G TELEMATICS HARDWARE DEACTIVATION SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES that come equipped with a factory installed SOS switch, located near the overhead map lamp, also come equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). AT&T discontinued its U.S. 3G network coverage on February 22, 2022. As a result, automakers that utilize AT&Ts 3G network connection, including Nissan Group, have had connectivity services affected. INFINITI Connection with InTouch Services are no longer available on the APPLIED VEHICLES listed above.

- 10208943BATTERY QUICK CHARGE NOTICE SERVICE INFORMATION When charging the vehicles 12 volt battery with the high amperage quick charge function, the ignition should never be ON, or turned ON, while charging. Attempting to start the vehicle, or turning the ignition ON, while using the high amperage quick charge could potentially damage the fuel pump control module. Only turn the ignition ON when either the ESM or a technical service bulletin service procedure states to do so, and only while using a battery maintainer or smart charger set to reflash mode, or a similar setting. Battery voltage should not exceed 16V during a reprograming operation.

Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90 (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown in this bulletin will prevent tire Flat Spotting. All current headlamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). - This is necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature "variations" (warmer or colder) without damage to the headlamp. - Moisture in the air sometimes "travels" into and out of the headlamp assembly through these vents. - Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense. - The fogging/cloudiness should disappear over time when the headlamp is in a dry environment. - 10192737SERVICE INFORMATION When diagnosing the front sonar parking sensor for potentially unwanted activation (e.g. sonar activates with no obstacle ahead), inspect the front license plate, front license plate frame and if equipped, the front license plate bracket. See page 2 for example photos. The front sonar parking sensor may activate if: The front license plate is bent outward from its bracket (there is a gap between the license plate and the bracket) OR the front license plate frame is bent or loose and is hanging outward, away from the license plate and/or bracket (there is a gap between the license plate frame and the license plate and/or bracket) OR the bracket is loose and is hanging outward, away from the bumper (there is a gap between the bracket and the bumper). If any of these conditions are found, correct it by removing the gap (straighten the license plate, straighten and/or secure the license plate frame, or secure the bracket, as it applies). - Retest the operation of the front sonar parking sensor.
