10225521We have received reports of the front turn signal lenses cracking on Isuzu vehicles. These lenses are cracking from the effects of being washed with alkaline detergents. Alkaline detergents are typically used in industrial settings and are reactive with the paint, metals, and other materials used to make up the exterior components of Isuzu vehicles. Isuzu recommends that only neutral detergents be used when washing Isuzu vehicles. However, if alkaline detergents are used to wash an Isuzu vehicle, it is crucial that all traces of the detergent are rinsed away with water or wiped off as necessary. Allowing alkaline detergent to dry on the turn signal lenses will cause them to crack. Each Isuzu vehicle is originally equipped with an Owner's Manual that includes guidelines for the proper exterior maintenance of the vehicle. The following guidelines are typical of those found in an Isuzu Owner's Manual concerning the use of detergents on a vehicle's exterior.
10225519Isuzu Motors Limited has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 model year F-Series vehicles. The jam nut for the steering stopper bolt on the left side may loosen and allow the bolt to back away from the steering knuckle. This could result in an increase in the turning radius of the vehicle in left turns, which could make it difficult to make sharp turns. If the vehicle's turning radius is increased, there is an increased risk of a crash. A prior recall (19V-467) was conducted to address this issue, but we have identified this condition on vehicles that were remedied in that campaign as well as those that were produced after a change in production intended to prevent the condition.

10178754Isuzu diesel engines available in the above affected vehicles meet the california air resource board's (carb) optional idling emissions standard of 30 grams per hour of oxides of nitrogen (nox) with no increase in the emission of other regulated pollutants. As a result these vehicles have been approved as "certified clean idle" and are "exempt" from the engine shutdown system (ess) requiremnet pursuant ot section 1956.8 of title 13, california code of regulations. As required by the ess regulation, for "certificed clean idle" vehicles, isuzu has introduced a tamper resistance "certified clean idle" label located on the driver's side door panel. It IS important that this label remain, permanently, on the vehicle to identify it as "certified clean idle." carb requires this label as evidence that, at hte time of manufacture, the engine installed met the applicable emission standards. Should the label be found missing or damged during an inspection, a citation and penalties may be issued. If the vehicle IS operated in california with a damaged or missing clean idle label, isuzu recommends vehicle operators follow the 5 minute ess requirement by manually turning off the engine. Following this ess requiremnet will keep the vehicle operation compliant until a replacement label can be installed. "Clean air idle" labels are printed with a serial number and registered to an individual vin. As a result, a replacemnet label will also include a new serial number which must be registered to the vehicle's vin by the manufacturer. The below information IS provided to assit in acquiring, replacing and registering a replacement label.

10161191"Some customers may complain about a clunking noise coming from the front end typically heard when turning into an uneven road surface or while turning and hitting a bump. This clunking noise may be caused by the front leaf spring contacting the spring hanger as shown in figure 1. Inspect the four locations at the front spring forward hanger, as shown with red arrows in figure 2, for evidence of contact. If evidence of contact IS present, replace both front leaf springs with updated leaf springs by following the procedure set forth in the applicable wsm. This will increase the clearance and prevent contact in the future. (See table 1.)"
10161190"Some customers may complain about the instrument panel cluster (ipc) air pressure gauges frequently dropping into the red (low pressure) zone accompanied by an audible ""buzzer"" when applying the air brakes often, such as in stop and go traffic. We have determined that the brake air pressure gauge red zone begins to indicate low air pressure unnecessarily early at 88psi (612kpa) as this pressure IS sufficient for the air brakes to operate properly. Similarly, the buzzer will also sound prematurely at 78psi (539kpa) as that pressure also IS sufficient for the air brakes to operate properly. For customers who experience this frequent buzzer activation, isuzu has released an updated pic with revised (improved) red zone scaling and buzzer activation. The red zone in the updated ipc will begin at 73psi (501kpa) and the buzzer will activate at 66psi (462kpa). These new pressure points continue to provide appropriate and adequate warning in case of low brake air pressure while reducing the unnecessary audible warning for vehicles with frequent brake application, such as stop and go traffic. Before replacing the ipc for this customer complaint, be sure to inspect the air brake system for leaks to ensure there IS not another cause for this complaint."
