The pcm/ecu (cars computer or brain), that controls everything in the vehicle, sensors, emissions, fuel etc.has gone out for the second time causing a crank no start issue. Took vehicle to my local jeep dealer (hemet, ca.) for them to charge me $1450.00!!! For a new pcm! And not a new part, but a rebuilt one! I can find factory replacement pcm's online for $520.00 new not rebuilt! Have read numerous owner co mplaints about this very same part and wondered, "why no recall or tsb"? Thank you for any help.
Passenger compartment fills with water (over one inch!) in heavy rains at freeway speeds. I determined (mechanical engineer) that wheel spray from rear tire penetrated poorly sealed body seams on passenger side. took dealer four times to fix even though I identified the problem. I showed approximate area of leaking at foot level on right lower body and they replaced the window! next time they sealed the firewall and finally two sealant patches were made in the area of actual leakage. total of four trips to have fixed. still slightly leaks in the heaviest rains at freeway speeds.*ak
The seatbelt strap exstension IS very long while closing the door the strap will get caught up inside of the vehicle. *ak
Transmission rattles if in neutral, with clutch pedal not depressed. When in first gear, will often pop out of geat with a loud sound. Difficult to change gears from 5 to 4 after driving for more then 30 min in 5TH gear. Please note that I'm in ontario, canada, postal code K1N 9M5, so state and zip infor in the form are not correct.*ak
