Kalmar Solutions, LLC (Kalmar) is recalling certain 2019 Ottawa T2E battery electric vehicles. The transmission tailshaft speed sensor can be affected by electromagnetic interference, causing the transmission to shift unexpectedly.
Risk and remedy
Risk
The shifting of the transmission can cause unexpected vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Kalmar will notify owners and TransPower will replace the transmission tail shaft sensor and update software, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2020. Owners may contact Kalmar customer service at 1-785-229-6327.

- 10234558Subject: Safety Risk of Fire on Ottawa T2E Models Units Affected: All battery-electric Ottawa Model T2E terminal tractors Possible Situation: If the battery box housing and/or cover becomes damaged (including dented or for any reason the seal is compromised), there exists a risk of fire even if the unit is not operating. Solution: As indicated in the Operators Manual, you should immediately cease operating the unit and contact Kalmar immediately if the battery is damaged in any way.
