TL* the contact owns a 2007 keystone everest rv. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the driver side front tire suddenly blew. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. the technician stated that the tire failure occurred as a result of the frame fracturing above the rocker area of the front and rear axle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but not solution was offered. the failure mileage was unknown.
I own a 2007 keystone everest fiver. The tires on it are the mission's 235-80-16 load range. I've had two blowouts, the first wasn't that bad but the second one did some damage on the side of the camper. I contacted the tire manufacturer and was told that because the tires were five years old that they couldn't or should I say wouldn't do anything about it. I explained to them that I purchased the unit new off the lot in 2007. I was told that the date on the tires was 2006 and that the life span of trailer tires was 3 to 5 years that it didn't matter if they were in service or was waiting to be put on the units. So people everyone needs to look at the dates on the tires when they go to purchase a new camper because it may have older tires on it and not know about it. I know that I will be looking. It's not fun setting on the side of road trying to change a flat with truckers coming by you at 80 mph and the camper on a jack with no tire on the camper shaking side to side wondering if its going to fall of the jack before you get the tire back on. *kb
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 keystone everest trailer. The contact stated that the boiler on the refrigerator was damaged and needed to be replaced. Dometic also placed a covering around the refrigerator, but the contact feels that this may not completely eliminate the failure. The refrigerator coolant continued to leak. the contact had to replace the refrigerator since the repair failed.
TL* the contact owns a 2007 keystone everest recreational vehicle. One of the tires on the rv was damaged. When he notified the manufacturer, the contact was told that they would assist with replacing the tire. He contacted the manufacturer a second time after several days and was then told that he would be liable for the shipping costs of the new tire. The current and failure mileages, as well as the vin, were unavailable.
Towing everest 5TH wheel model 364Q from calif to washington. lippert frame broke over axles on both sides and bent, broke or twisted 14 ft. axel shifted 4" to passenger side causing tire to rub against frame for blow out. lippert frames are unsafe at any speed and have been causing damage to many rv's for several years. why hasn't nhtsa fixed this? peoples lives are in danger!!!!!! *Tr
Towing everest 5TH wheel model # 364Q in oregon frame broke over axels. *Tr
Loose axle. the back axle became loose therefore causing it to back p to the frame on one side and rubbing on the inside frame and wheel covers. this could have caused a tire blow on both sides to extremely high friction of the tires on the road and rapid wear of the tires. this also could have caused a fire due to heat created by the friction of the tire on the tire cover and frame. *tr
The trailer was being normally driven at legal highway speeds and was properly loaded. The curbside rear leaf spring hanger welds broke completely loose from the subframe. the hanger became wedged in the hole left in the subframe. Resulting in significant damage to the trailer suspension. at this time, the damage IS still being evaluated. any old parts will be retained for possible litigation purposes. *Tr
