  Risk

  If the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy

  Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with an improved one, free of charge. Owners of specific models were notified that remedy parts were available starting January 21, 2021. Owners of other models will be notified as remedy parts become available. Remedy parts should be available for all affected vehicles by late March 2021. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 20V-012. Toyota's number for this recall is 20TA02. Lexus' number for this recall is 20LA01.

  Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2008-2019 Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX 570 vehicles. Over time, the seat belt tension sensor wire harness may break and deactivate the front passenger air bag, knee air bag, and passenger seat-mounted side airbag.

  In the event of a crash, deactivated air bags can increase the risk of injury .

  Remedy

  Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will modify the front passenger seat belt assembly or replace it with an improved one, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 11, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are Lexus Interim J2L and Remedy JLL, Toyota Interim J15 and Remedy J05.

  Car has less than 5K miles. On 5 instances, I opened the power liftgate by depressing the button on the liftgate. As I loaded/unloaded items from the car, the liftgate closed down on me with no beeping or sensing that bodies were present. One instance happened where the liftgate pressed on the back…

  Car has less than 5K miles. On 5 instances, I opened the power liftgate by depressing the button on the liftgate. As I loaded/unloaded items from the car, the liftgate closed down on me with no beeping or sensing that bodies were present. One instance happened where the liftgate pressed on the back of my daughter's head pushing her down to the base of the cargo area. All 5 instances occurred on flat surfaces with the vehicle off and in very hot temperatures. My local lexus service dept was able to recreate this by leaving my car out in 90 degree weather. They informed me mine was the 2ND lexus to report this safety issue. They will be replacing the motor and another component of the power liftgate. Obviously, this can cause serious problems for people not strong enough to push the gate back up despite it pushing down to close.

Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 10) and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired or will expire within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 4). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the Embedded Navigation Update and provide telematic map services for a period of two years from the day that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. Activation card numbers are provided in an activation card number pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system.

This Service Bulletin provides best practice procedures for vehicle pulling complaint, diagnosis, and repair for 2002 ? 2021 model year Lexus vehicles. This information supplements Repair Manual procedures when the symptoms are: ?Vehicle Pulling: The vehicle moves to the right or left when the driver holds the steering wheel while driving straight ahead without exerting steering effort. ?Steering Wheel Off Center: The vehicle travels straight, but the steering wheel is not pointed straight ahead. The vehicle is not pulling. Before repairing a vehicle pulling to one side, it is necessary to clearly identify the cause of the pulling condition. Frequently, pulling to one side is diagnosed as a wheel alignment concern. However, the actual cause may be related to the lateral force generated by the tires, vehicle damage, road crown or worn components. Performing a wheel alignment when tire force is the cause could result in the wheel alignment being set at a value outside of specifications. This could then cause other problems such as uneven tire wear, etc. A customer may notice a pull to the left when in the left lanes of travel and notice a pull to the right or no pull when traveling in the right lanes of travel on the very same section of roadway. This road crown effect is environmental and cannot be corrected with suspension adjustments or any other wheel or tire modification discussed in this bulletin.

• 10174907TT: After performing a battery test using the DCA-8000 battery diagnostic charger and the battery health has been considered a ?Good? condition, the DCA will automatically enter a post-test charging mode. In the post-test charging mode, the DCA analyzes the current state of charge of the battery and automatically begins to charge the battery to a fully charged condition, 100% state of charge. The time required to charge the battery to full will vary. Once the DCA enters the post-test charging mode the battery test has been completed, and further charging can be conducted under the Technician?s discretion. Selecting ?Stop? will cancel the automatic charging of the battery and return the user to the DCA results screen. The test results and charge time can be printed or emailed from the results screen.
