If the PRD does not activate in the event of a buildup of pressure, the CNG tank may explode, increasing the risk of fire and injury.
Remedy
McNeilus will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the PRD's, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 30, 2019. Owners may contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278.
McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. (McNeilus) is recalling certain 2008-2018 Bridgemaster V concrete mixers equipped with an optional composite material hydraulic tank. The filler neck check valve may seal the tank too tightly, causing the tank to overpressurize and possibly rupture.

Risk
If the tank ruptures it may cause hydraulic fluid to spill. The ruptured tank can cause injuries from plastic debris. The spilled hydraulic fluid could be hot which could cause burn injuries. If the vehicle is on the road when the tank ruptures, the tank pieces or spilled hydraulic fluid may cause a road hazard which could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
McNeilus has notified owners, and dealers will replace the filler neck, free of charge. The recall began on June 4, 2018. Owners may contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278. McNeilus' number for the recall is VSR-TSB-018.

The incorrect fitting may result in a CNG leak, which in the presence of an ignition source, may increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, the hose may disconnect from the filter and result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
McNeilus will notify owners, and pay for the owner's service technicians to install the correct fitting. The recall began on April 28, 2017. Owners may contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278. McNeilus' number for this recall is VSR-TSB-017.

Remedy
McNeilus will notify owners, and advise them to follow the provided instructions from Kidde to inspect their fire extinguishers. McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. (McNeilus) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 McNeilus Concrete Standard and Bridgemaster V concrete mixers, manufactured October 25, 2013, through February 14, 2014, and equipped with the optional vertical chute rack design. The subject vehicles have extension chutes that can unexpectedly fall out of the rack.

An extension chute that falls from the rack may create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy

- 10237430McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing identified an issue with over-torqued bolts on the lower ladder platform. The bolts used to secure the lower ladders to the lower ladder platform were over-torqued causing the bolts to fail. New hardware needs to be installed in placed of the over-torqued bolts.

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc. has been alerted by our supplier that a concern affecting safety exists in some Emcara Pressure Relief Device (PRD) valves on CNG tanks (for your information,Emcara?s NHTSA Recall number is 15E059). Some McNeilus Refuse models were shipped with an Emcara CNG PRD which may not vent properly. The purpose of the thermal PRD is to relieve pressure in the CNG system if the CNG tank is reaching an unsafe level of pressure, as might occur with a thermal event that heats up a tank. In the event of a thermal event, the thermal PRD may not vent properly, which increases the likelihood of a CNG tank over-pressurizing and rupturing. A tank rupture creates an increased risk of injury to the truck occupants, firefighters, or bystanders.
- 10083680"For rear discharge mixers built before october 31, 2015 on mack chassis with mcneilus command center controls that had any oem service completed at a mack dealership, it IS possible the dealer connected into the vehicles engine control unit (vecu). Once the dealer connected to the vehicles engine control unit, a parameter in the mack software was unknowingly changed from a 1 to a 0. This parameter change caused the remote mixer throttle not to work. If the remote throttle does not work, throttle increases for mixer functions need to be controlled through the cab controls, instead of remotely. If the remote throttle does not work, chassis vehicle function IS not affected. The remote throttle controls mixer functions only."
