Vehicle jerks very violently when accelerating or using paddle shifters (in manual mode). other owners seem to encounter same issue
Wheel lips on this vehicle deform with little provocation resulting in rapid air loss, loss of handling and in extreme cases a crash. the shape of these wheels deviates from other alloy wheels in a way that promotes this behavior. the curve of the rim barrel between the lips (also know as the bell) IS much shallower than many other wheels. the result IS that the angle at which the barrel meets the lips IS closer to a right angle than common. the barrel meeting the lip at an angle closer to parallel with the pavement greatly increase the risk that sudden deflation could occur resulting in the aforementioned safety issues.
Documentation errors and omissions misinformation regarding proper replacement wheel. this misinformation could result in wheels with improper fit being install potentially resulting in abnormal handling, diminished braking performance and in extreme cases possible separation of the wheel from the vehicle at high speed. mercedes parts web site, https://mbparts.mbusa.com, lists parts 205-401-11-00-7x23 front and 205-401-12-00-7x23 rear as the proper replacement wheels. the selling dealer, mercedes-benz of flemington, nj insists that these are not the proper wheels but parts 205-401-48-00-7x23 front and 205-401-72-00-7x23 rear are the proper wheels. all these wheels are available from numerous resellers. purchasing and installing the https://mbparts.mbusa.com listed wheels could result in the aforementioned safety issues.
The wheels on my tires will crack at the slightest stress from the road. it could be a bump, a tiny pot hole, even a stick, and these tires will become defective, either by cracking, becoming flat or the wheel becoming completely immoblized. I have been stranded on the road in the middle of the night for hours because of these defective tires. I've come into work un-showered with no sleep, because I was stranded for sometimes up to 12 hours before I would get help. its happened at least once a month for the past 4 years. there IS no way these tires passed even basic inspection. they are danger to anyone using them.
TL* the contact owns a 2017 mercedes-benz C43 AMG. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, there was an abnormal sound coming from the top of the vehicle. The contact inspected the vehicle and became aware of a massive fracture in the sun roof. The contact called an unknown dealer and was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,929.
TL* the contact owned a 2017 mercedes benz C43 AMG. The contact stated that while driving at 63 mph in the rain, loss control of the vehicle as it sled to the left and crashed into the guard rail. The incident of march 12TH did not feel like I had hydro-planned. The contact stated that several warning lights illuminated such as air bags failure, shock failure, suspension failure and track failure. There were no injuries and no police report was filed. The vehicle's driver's side was damaged under the front bumper and the frame was damaged beyond repair. The vehicle was towed to an auto body repair facility where the contact was informed that the steering was extensively damaged and a failure cause could not be determined. The contact researched the failure on-line and believes that the electric steering was defective and may be a cause of the failure. The contact mentioned that the vin was not included in a recall for electrical steering. During the inspection of the vehicle by penske auto collision center, the technician could not tell if the steering damage was sustained during the collision or as a result of a defect. They also found damage to the rear drive unit although, as very visible in the photos, the vehicle struck the barrier with the front left (driver's side) portion of the front bumper. The rear of the car never slammed into the barrier but did scrape along the driver's side momentarily but there was no impact. The collision center could not account for the damage to the rear drive unit. In research, I found a few mentions and complaints of the rear axle disengaging which could cause loss of control. The vehicle was totaled by the contact's insurance company. The dealer and manufacturer had been contacted. The failure mileage was 32,000. *Dt*jb

In regard to continental tires.the wheels crack at the slightest resistance. the wheels constantly need air placed in them sometimes twice a week. in a year I have had to replace 12 tires due to cracking at the slightest impact. the wheels do not last 50 miles after being flat they are destroyed the minute they hit impact. these are dangerous tires for anyone and these need to be recalled.
TL* the contact leased a 2017 mercedes-benz C43 AMG equipped with pirelli p zero all season tires, size: p225/40/r19 (na). On several occasions, the low tire pressure warning indicator illuminated. Also, the front driver and passenger tires experienced blowouts and cracked rims. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of nanuet (99 ny-304, nanuet, ny 10954, (845) 624-1500) to be diagnosed, but no assistance was offered. The contact stated that both front tires were replaced eleven times. The vehicle manufacturer was notified. The tire manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 3,997.
TL* the contact owns a 2017 mercedes-benz C43 AMG equipped with continental tires. The front tires were size: 225/40/r19 93Y and the rear tires were size: 255/35/r19 96Y (na). The contact stated that the sidewalls of the tires were so thin that the tires would blow out while driving over small potholes. The contact experienced six tire failures over the last fifteen months. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of union (2585 US-22, union, nj 07083, (908) 379-7200) and the tires were replaced at the contact's expense. The tire manufacturer acknowledged the tire failures, but offered no assistance. The mercedes-benz manufacturer also acknowledged the failures, but blamed the contact for not purchasing the extra tire insurance at the time of purchase. The manufacturer initially offered a discount to purchase the tire insurance. The contact was later offered to end the lease of the vehicle and the manufacturer offered a discount on leasing or purchasing another mercedes-benz vehicle. The contact wanted the tires and rims replaced with standard 18-inch tires, but the manufacturer refused because the cost was too high. The tire lines, dot numbers, vin, and tire and vehicle failure mileages were not available.
The parking brake won't release sometimes after doing everything that the manual and mercedes benz recommends. I've been stranded for over 30 minutes. I've pulled the brake release for over 10 seconds and put the car in gear and turned if off and on. twice the parking brake light has come on when driving.
At start-up, the parking brake light comes on and can't be turned off. This happened several times. The parking brake light comes on while driving one day at start-up the brake would not release for 30 minutes while trying various methods recommended by mercedes benz support and the operators manual. the brake light has come on when it starts up and the parking brake could not be released preventing the car from moving. Also the warning light comes on when driving. I will upload a picture of this.
Tire failure while driving. Tread separated from sidewall. Maybe related to pirelli recall 16t018000. Tire manufactured 05-17 and dot ce X2 T120 and ece homologation symbol IS E4 0271937.
Vehicle has insufficient electrical grounding that can lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag. mercedes refuses to inform me of a date that the vehicle will be repaired. I was sent a letter from mercedes dated november 2017 and the dealers and the manufacture will not give me a date. I am unsure as I drive the auto that the airbag will deploy causing and accident and injury to myself. why can't the vehicle be repaired in a timely manner? I am now in the 5TH month and wondering if I am driving a time bomb.
The car enters limp mode in the highway where it looses all the power and warning pops up as active brake assist IS inoperative, traction control lights come on as well. If you manage to glide the car to a stop and restart the car, the car starts to back up as normal. took the car for service several times, intake airflow sensor was replaced but the car still has the same issue. Upon searching online, this IS a very well known issue with the newer mecedes cars where the car goes into a safety mode where the engine cuts all the power turning the situation into a even more dangerous scenario. As part of the safety mode, if the car looses all the power, then there IS few things that can be done to come out of it. this IS a major safety concern as repeated occurence of this problem has the ability to cause a severe accident.
Takata recall I recieved the notification from takata airbag inflators at home. I called my dealer and they didn't agree that my car have a recall for airbags. I called the mercedes benz principal office and they also denied I have problmes with airbags. The website of airbagrecall.com showed active recalls when I put my vin number it showed that I have the problem.oct 6 2017 recall number 17v627.manufactures recall number 2017100005. I feel in risk to drive my car and I need it urgent. Please I need help.
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in US vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced. In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004L that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All Takata inflators produced with propellant 2004L contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated PSAN inflators. It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- Takata (now known as TK Global), the Independent Testing Coalition, and Exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of Takata desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004L (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004L is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L.The Office of Defects Investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated PSAN frontal inflators manufactured by Takata. This investigation will require extensive information on Takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated PSAN inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=EA21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). This investigation does not supersede EA15-001, which remains open.
