• 10232320Mercedes-Benz AG (MBAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz, has produced certain MY 2021-2022 A-Class, CLA-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class, GLA-Class, GLB-Class, GLC-Class, GLEClass, GLS-Class, and AMG GT (177, 118, 257, 213, 247, 253, 167 and 290 platform) vehicles without the augmented reality camera (ARC), as disclosed at the time of sale to the vehicle purchaser. As a result, the ARC and "Dash-cam" functions are currently not enabled. What Were Doing MBUSA will conduct a Service Campaign where an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will retrofit the ARC to the vehicle and enable the ARC and Dash-cam functions on applicable vehicles.
• 10231032Complaint Tailgate opens unintentionally. Cause Accidental or unnoticed activation of the button to open the tailgate on the vehicle key. E.g. when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by double-clicking on the button instead.
• 10227143Complaint Squeaking noise from area of input shaft of electric steering Cause Inadequate lubrication. Remedy Grease/lubricate sealing area of input shaft. The steering components can be greased/lubricated while they are still installed
• 10222481Complaint Customer states after a bus sleep the SiriusXM category changes from "My Favorites" to "All Stations" or a different category. Sometimes, the "My Favorites" category will be unavailable for the entire drive cycle. Cause Current MBUX Multimedia System (A26/17) software release Remedy Software update of MBUX Multimedia System (A26/17) to E905.4 (in development). This document will be updated once the software is released.
• 10219265Complaint Vibrations in steering at speeds lower than 30 mph. Possible when turning and also partly noticeable after changing to winter or all-season tires. Cause Controller stability of steering software, caused by reduced friction in steering (tolerance for production + running-in characteristics). Remedy Software update available in 1st quarter of 2023 (adaptation of stability limits)
• 10217163Complaint The Apple Carplay interface cannot be controlled via the center console touchpad or the right-hand steering wheel touchpad. Cause A setting on the iPhone may prevent control via the touchpad Remedy To remedy on the affected iPhone, navigate to "Settings" -> "Accessibility" -> "Touch" and turn the "BackTap" option OFF.
• 10217159Complaint - Vehicle cannot be unlocked/ vehicle does not start - Display message in instrument cluster "Battery - Start Engine - see Operator's Manual Cause Root cause is a bus keepawake in either the Headlight control unit or in one of the following: ALC, IC, SAM, PTCU, ESP. Additionally, the quick test will show U116000 "A bus keepawake control unit has been detected" in the electronic ignition switch (EZS) control unit for this root cause. Remedy Eliminate bus keep awake issue flash new software where available:
• 10217158Complaint Noises from the area of the steering column. - Creaking - Squeaking - Chattering - Humming - Grinding Cause At present, there are no known noise problems with the steering column. Remedy Check surrounding area of the steering column for possible noises. - Instrument panel support - Steering column switch module If the cause of the noise can be narrowed down to the steering column, create a PTSS case
• 10215016Mercedes-Benz AG (MBAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year (MY) 2020-2022 A-Class, C-Class, CLAClass, GLA-Class, GLB-Class, GLC-Class, GLE-Class, and GLS-Class (118, 167, 177, 205, 247, and 253 platform) vehicles, the mobile phone cradle control unit software does not correspond to the current series production specifications. It is therefore possible that the inductive charging function may not work as intended. What Were Doing MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the mobile phone cradle control unit software.
• 10210929Complaint Volume and bass level too low Cause Current sound amp (N40/3) software release. Important: On vehicles with standard sound, the rear subwoofer (H21/35) emits the engine sound only (if equipped with M139 engine) On vehicles with code 853 (Advanced Sound) or 810 (Premium Sound), the rear subwoofer (H21/35) emits not only the engine sound, but also entertainment sound Remedy Perform a software update of the sound amp (N40/3) to the latest available version. Note: Do not replace any parts as this will not remedy the complaint.
• 10210926Complaint Fault message (yellow) in instrument cluster and TPM warning lamp. Individual or all tire pressure sensors are not recognized. Tire pressure monitoring system nonfunctional / temporarily unavailable. Cause Tires with excessively-large radio signal attenuation interfere with transmission of the tire pressure sensors. Remedy Check if one of the following tires is installed: If one of the tires listed above is installed with the corresponding DOT number, replace this tire. In accordance with the Warranty Manual, the costs for the tire shall be settled directly with the tire manufacturer.
• 10210919Mercedes-Benz AG (MBAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz, has determined that certain MY 2021-2022 CLA-Class, A-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class, GLA-Class, GLB-Class, GLC-Class (118, 177, 213, 238, 247, 253, and 257 platform) vehicles were manufactured without the HERMES control unit, as disclosed to the vehicle purchaser at the time of sale. As a result, the Mercedes Me Connect services including the emergency call (eCall) function are currently not available. What Were Doing MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will retrofit the HERMES control unit to the vehicle and enable the Mercedes Me Connect functions on applicable vehicles.
• 10209880Complaint Staining at top and bottom of trim bars of doors. See example pictures 1, 2. Cause Discoloration of the protective coating of beltline door trim bars and upper door trim bars due to strong alkaline detergent in car washes. Remedy 1. Polish the trim bars with polish A 000 986 43 74. 2. If the complaint cannot be rectified by polishing, replace the door beltline trim bars, door upper trim bars and rear side window with trim element with the optimized parts listed in this document.
• 10209877Complaint The result from the XENTRY battery test does not match the current state of the battery. Cause The XENTRY battery tester uses the stored on-board electrical system data in the SAM module to access the health of the 12 volt battery. The XENTRY battery test may not take into account a single discharge event because the SAM cannot record the data if the battery is discharged. Note: A discharged battery does not necessarily need to be replaced. A discharged battery may be recovered with no permanent damage. Remedy Follow guided tests as described.
• 10208737Complaint Brake squeal from front axle when braking to a standstill. Cause Frictional vibrations between brake lining and brake disk. There is no impact to braking capabilities. Remedy Order and replace A0004202306 Linings of front axle as per parts catalog. It is not necessary to replace the brake disks; see also LI "Brake noises on AMG - vehicles" in design group 42.10.
• 10208671Mercedes-Benz AG (MBAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2021-22 A-Class (177 platform), CLA-Class (118 platform), CLS-Class (257 platform), E-Class (213 and 238 platform), GLA-Class, GLBClass (247 platform), GLC-Class (253 platform), GLE-Class, GLS-Class (167 platform), and GT-Class (290 platform) vehicles, the software for the MBUX control unit does not correspond with the latest series production configuration, and subsequently, navigation may not be available. What Were Doing MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the MBUX control unit software.
• 10207198Complaint The garage door hand transmitter cannot be initialized with the integrated garage door opener in the inside rearview mirror. Cause 1. The integrated garage door opener (GDO) is not compatible with the opening system installed in the garage. 2. The garage door drive uses a rolling code system. In contrast to the fixed code system, the LED in the mirror in this case flashes green after programming. 3. When the handheld remote control is initialized with the integrated GDO, the distance between the handheld remote control and the GDO is too long or too short. 4. The maximum programming time of the hand transmitter was exceeded. The hand transmitter switches itself off after 10s to 20s. However, the garage door opener needs up to 30s to learn the code. 5. The maximum programming time of the integrated GDO was exceeded. The integrated GDO has aborted programming unsuccessfully. 6. The GDO cannot be programmed after replacement (See #9). 7. The batteries of the hand transmitter are too weak. 8. A part of the signal was not registered correctly. 9. The GDO is not programmed to US standards. 10. Errors with Chamberlin MyQ, Liftmaster MyQ, or Craftsman AssureLink systems causing loss of synchronization. Remedy Note: The numbering of the remedies refers to the numbering of the causes. 1. Installation of a universal receiver. Order via the Homelink Hotline. 2. In the case of garage door drives with rolling code system, synchronization of the garage door drive must also be performed. 3. Keep the correct distance when initializing! This can vary between 5 and 20 cm depending on the system. If the initialization attempt is unsuccessful, repeat the initialization process, changing the distance between the hand transmitter and the mirror.
