10232330Complaint The surface-flush door handle sometimes does not retract when the vehicle is locked. It is only after repeated locking operation that the problematic door handle retracts. Cause Motor fault detection (FC B185E96 or B185D96) is triggered in the bearing bracket electronics of the surface-flush door handle (A17/x) during the retracting movement and an adjustment for this cycle is prevented. Remedy Replace bearing bracket of surface-flush door handle on problematic door.

10231036Complaint The "Ambient Light Warning Assistance Inoperative" warning message is displayed in the instrument cluster and the light-emitting diode strips are not working. This message is set by the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1), when a light-emitting diode strip is missing or where a fault is detected in the light-emitting diode strip. Cause The following causes are possible: 1. Rework in active ambient lighting area. The ambient lighting is switched on and the connectors are disconnected from the wiring harness.NO fault code is stored. 2. Fault code 123X87 (communication error) is stored in the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1) and an lightemitting diode strip (E34/1-6) is displayed in the quick test with ! (exclamation mark).. 3. Fault code 186X00 (malfunction) stored in the light-emitting diode strips (E34/1-6). 4. Fault code 186x98 (overtemperature) stored in light-emitting diode strips (E34/1-6). 5. There are no fault codes stored in the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1) and in the light-emitting diode strips (E34/1-6). Remedy 1. Lock and unlock vehicle to reset the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1). IMPORTANT: When locking, the visual locking verification signal must be visible. Make sure that all the doors are shut. After locking, wait until the instrument cluster switches to OFF, then press unlock. 2. Run guided test as per XENTRY Diagnosis (check electric lines and connectors).
10231033Complaint Sliding sunroof panel of panoramic sliding sunroof reversed (temporarily, once, multiple times) during closing process without entrapment event. Cause Cause: It is not possible to save the relearning process for force progression after each actuation. A, e.g. mechanical sluggishness caused by aging cannot be compensated for here. Further analyses: Information from the control unit log of the panoramic roof control unit (TSSR223) is still required in a TIPS case. Remedy Remedy: Normalize panoramic roof with diagnostic system and carry out teach-in run for automatic reversing function. IF the above remedy does not solve the issue (namely): The teach-in run for the automatic reversing function of the panoramic roof via XENTRY has still NOT been carried out
10231032Complaint Tailgate opens unintentionally. Cause Accidental or unnoticed activation of the button to open the tailgate on the vehicle key. E.g. when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by double-clicking on the button instead.
10231022Complaint Noises when reversing slowly < 4 mph (squeaking) Cause There is a seal in the electric drivetrain that seals off the coolant system from the electric motor. This seal is moistened with coolant during forward travel. As a result of the change in rotational direction when reversing slowly, it may be the case that this sealing ring is no longer moistened. Squeaking noises may occur as a result of the so-called "stick-slip effect". This behavior does not impact the function or durability of the sealing ring and electric drivetrain. Remedy Do not replace any parts. Explain the cause of the noises to the customer.

10225821Complaint The flush-mounted door handle could jam when it is pulled out and may move in a jerky manner when doing so. In the area of the paneling section of the door, paint damage could be present (picture 1) and/or an abrasion point could be present at the door handle (picture 2) Cause The door handle could be misaligned in the y direction and/or the z direction (picture 3); as a result, the door handle could brush the door at the paneling section of the door. Remedy 1.) Loosen screws from bearing bracket (picture 4, step 1). 2.) Remove bearing bracket (see picture 4, step 2) from door. 31.10.2022 11:14:46 RROWELL Copyright Mercedes-Benz AG Page 2 / 6 The door handle must be in pulled-in position. Open the affected door and push the door lock's rotary tumbler into the main catch. Lock the vehicle using the transmitter key so that the door handle is pulled in. Detach plug connector from bearing bracket (center slot). 3.) Paint over paint damage at door paneling (see picture 1) according to manufacturer specifications, using spot repair procedure if necessary. 4.) Loosen old assembly frame (picture 5, step 3). The assembly frame is bonded. Remove adhesive residue at front door. Bonding surfaces must be free of dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components. Otherwise, this can lead to bonding problems. See "Parts" for part number of cleaning agent. 5.) Position new assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) at door. Remove protective film of tape at assembly frame beforehand. The assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) must have the same clearance all around the flange. 6.) Replace door handle, if an abrasion point (picture 2) is present.
10222484Complaint The customer may have one or more of the following complaints: Toll system inoperative. The system cannot be activated. The toll system cannot log into the payment system provider. The required toll service app is unavailable The message "service currently not available" is displayed after selecting the "Toll Service" app Cause The serial number of the toll transponder is not stored in VeDoc. Without the serial number, the system cannot log into the provider. Remedy Perform initial start-up of the Toll System control unit (A50/6) using XENTRY Diagnosis. After initial start-up, the serial number of the control unit is back-documented in VeDoc. Data synchronization is then carried out between the VeDoc data and the system provider. This takes place automatically and may take up to 48 hours. If the data synchronization has been completed successfully, an additional icon with the title "Toll service" appears in the "Apps" menu of the head unit. The message "Service currently not available" should no longer appear once activation has been correctly carried out. NOTE: Do not replace parts for this complaint.
10222482Complaint No sound from any speakers, regardless of audio source. Cause Incompatible software module (A2979033902) installed on Sound Amp (N40/3). Remedy Perform a software update of the Sound Amp (N40/3) to flash the correct software module (A2979031001) Note for model series 295 only: If the necessary software is not found through XENTRY Diagnosis then open a Diagnosis XSF ticket to request an FSF
10222477Complaint When attempting to open the trunk lid or the tailgate, the trunk lock unlocks, but there is no actuation of the trunk control/tailgate control drive unit (M51/3). Cause Faulty microswitch signal at trunk lock. In the event of a problem, the status of the trunk lock (picture 1) does not change during opening/closing of the trunk lid or tailgate. The function of the interior trunk release is not affected. Replace trunk lock (A85/5)
10222476Complaint The surface-flush door handle sometimes does not retract when the vehicle is locked. It is only after repeated locking operation that the door handle retracts. Cause Height adjustment moves to the top/bottom limit stop and jams. Remedy There are 2 repair procedures to follow depending on vehicle (differentiated according to model and vehicle manufacturing date) 1. Replace repair kit for steering column height adjustment 2. Perform software update of driver's seat control unit
10217153Complaint A leak is present in the system; however, it is difficult to locate. Cause On some vehicles, repair connections have been implemented at the compressed-air lines as part of the factory rework. These are wrapped in the wiring harness and are therefore difficult to find and to access Remedy Check air suspension for leaks. If no obvious leaks are found in the system, then prior to replacing the component part, first expose the air lines in the wiring harness and check these for leak tightness.
