I am formally reporting a serious and potentially life-threatening safety issue with this vehicle and requesting an immediate investigation and recall consideration. On 09/21/2026 at approximately 5:05 PM, I was driving along with my wife on westbound Tennyson Road in Hayward during heavy traffic, the vehicle suddenly stopped without warning and multiple warning lights and indicators appeared. Fortunately, the vehicle behind us did not collide with us, as this could have resulted in serious injury or loss of life. A similar sudden-stop incident occurred 3–4 months ago outside our home at low speed, which we initially believed was an isolated mistake, but the recurrence now raises serious concerns about a possible safety defect. We cannot risk our lives by continuing to drive a vehicle that can suddenly stop without warning, particularly because the consequences could be catastrophic if this occurred on a freeway at high speed. We request an immediate diagnostic investigation, a written explanation of the cause, confirmation of whether the vehicle is safe to operate, and urgent review for a safety recall. This should be treated as a formal, potentially life-threatening safety complaint requiring immediate corrective action. 1.Immediately investigate this safety 2.Determine whether this is a known or recurring defect affecting this vehicle or other vehicles of the same model/year. 3.Provide a complete diagnostic inspection and written explanation of what caused the sudden shutdown. 4.Confirm what immediate steps must be taken to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate. 5.Escalate this matter for an urgent safety review and recall consideration if this defect can cause sudden loss of vehicle operation. This matter requires urgent attention and immediate corrective action
Tires being designated as the preferred tires via Mercedes are Bridgestone Turanza LS100 265/40R21 These tires go from new to under 3" of thread left, how is this possible. Yes EV vehicles are heavy but its clear these tire are not made sufficient enough to handle this vehicle. In addition to having to change all tires within less than 9,000 miles. The mercedes dealership in 2 different locations say that is normal!. one dealership advised some clients are having to change tires 3000 t0 5000 miles of use. If this is not confirmation that tires being designated for this vehicle are not sufficient. 3 TIRES !!! within 2 months have blown, pothole and 3 tires within 2 monhts is not normal. How is mercedes allowed to place into the market a vehicle where its obvious there are no tires capable of handling its weight. After 2 incidents to leave vehcile undrivable, HOUSE rules no more EV. I would not feel comfortable my family this vehicle with tires which cannot sustain normal driving conditions.
