New horizon IS recalling certain fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation. the refrigerator may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) IS present.
If this solution IS exposed to an ignition source under certain specific circumstances, it can result in a vehicle fire.
New horizon IS working with dometic to repair these refrigerators (please see 08e032). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. To manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or new horizon at 1-800-235-3140.
On certain fifth wheel travel trailers equipped with atwood sealed burner ranges, the range and slide-in burner tubes leading from the gas manifold to the burner heads had a depression or "kink" in the exterior bend restricting proper airflow and gas mixture.
This condition could result in carbon monoxide poisoning.
New horizons IS working with atwood to have the tubes replaced on these ranges (please see 07e030). owners may contact atwood at 1-800-348-7418 or new horizons at 1-800-235-3140.
I want to file a complaint about the tires and tire information shown on the label on my rv.i have a 2007 new horizon rv trailer model summit with vin# [xxx]. At this point in time after having had two of my four tires fail from (blowout or tread separation) and the remaining two tires approaching 8 years old I decided to shop for new tires. You can imagine my surprise when I started asking other rv owners for suggestions on what tires would meet the requirements of my rv application and it was pointed out that the original tires provided by new horizon rv were not rated as meeting the load requirements as stated on the tire label. my tire label clearly shows the gawr IS 8,000 lbs while the maximum load capacity of the two tires on each axle as only 7,500 lbs. It has also been pointed out that the tire size as listed on the label "235-85r-16g" should in fact have identified as a LT type tire and not a commercial truck size tire. I believe there IS a good probability that my two tires failed because they were overloaded according to goodyear information but not overloaded according to new horizon rv company. I am sorry to report that I no longer have the two failed tires in my possession but the two tires have dot serial # mjor 610W. I can provide pictures of both the dot serial and the tire label showing the gawr of 8,000 lbs and the tire size with inflation of 110 psi. I do not know the approximant miles on the tires because I am the second owner of the rv. The tires did show good tread depth. The failures occurred approximately after 600 to 625 miles into the trip. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6).
