Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2018-2026 Bay Star and Bay Star Sport motorhomes. The hood stops mounting adhesive may fail, which can allow the hood stop to detach while the vehicle is in transit.
Risk and remedy
Risk
Hood stops that detach can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and reinstall the hood stop brackets, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 20, 2026. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Newmar's number for this recall is 627 RSB.
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Bay Star, Essex, New Aire, 2018 Bay Start Sport, Canyon Star, Dutch Star, King Aire, Mountain Aire, Ventana LE, Ventana, and London Aire motorhomes. The power supply for the WiFiRanger may overheat.

An overheated power supply can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Newmar has notified owners, and dealers will replace the power supply, free of charge. The recall began April 18, 2019. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.

Remedy
Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the slide-out room controller, free of charge. The recall began August 24, 2018. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2018 Newmar Bay Star, Bay Star Sport, Canyon Star, Ventana LE, Ventana, Dutch Star, New Aire, Mountain Aire, London Aire, Essex, and King Aire motorhomes. The electrical connections in the breaker box may not be properly tightened, possibly causing the connections to overheat.

Risk
Overheating of the electrical connections can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the loose electrical connections, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2018. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain model year 2016-2018 Bay Star, Bay Star Sport, Canyon Star, Dutch Star, Essex, King Aire, London Aire, Mountain Aire, New Aire, Ventana and Ventana LE motorhomes. These vehicles may have a loose power connection at the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), possibly resulting in a build up of heat.

Risk
The build up of heat in the wiring from the loose power connection can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the electrical connection at the ATS, tightening it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on February 5, 2018. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy
Newmar will notify owners, and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on February 7, 2018. Risk
If the front side marker lights are not connected to the wiring harness, and the low beams do not illuminate when high beams are activated, it can reduce visibility to the operator and to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will connect the front side marker lights to the wiring harness, and ensure the low beam lights illuminate with high beam activation, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2018. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.

Safety issue with 3-step electric steps on 2018 newmar bay star motorhomes; steps are only inches off the ground when extended and will not stop extending if they come down on top of a foot, pet or other object. Consumer stated the step when open was only 2 inches off the ground as you can see in the attached photo, and that IS why the step was partially damaged when it opened while we were driving.*dt consumer stated rv dealership that recently worked on the rv step said he never seen rv steps that came that close to the ground, and could see where there was a safety issue. vin not valid. This could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. This condition can only occur with the battery disconnect on and the ignition key in the off/accessory position.

A loose power connection may cause a buildup of heat at the connection, potentially increasing the risk of overheating or a fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

Issue: The substitution pump requires a 15 amp fuse in lieu of the 10 amp fuse that was installed. This does not pose a safety issue, but the user may overload the 10 amp fuse during pump operation.

- 10129953Newmar Corporation has decided that certain 2018 Bay Star and Bay Star Sport motorhomes fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, ?Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.? On certain motorhomes, the front side marker lights are not connected into the wiring harness. Additionally, if the headlight high beams are activated, only the high beam bulbs illuminate. The intention of the high beam function on the affected coaches is to have both the high beam and low beam bulbs illuminate together.
- 10117938Riverpark, Inc. has recently discovered an issue with some of their SD cards that may make the dash radio freeze, run slow, and/or reboot. After testing, Riverpark believes that some of the Kingston SD cards were defective from the factory. In response to their findings, Newmar Corporation is issuing TSB 487 to inform dealers and service personnel of the defective parts. Issue: When the SD card plays in the Xite Infotainment Center, it loses communication after a period of time (typically 7-10 minutes). The system becomes sluggish and tries to re-boot continuously. This is partly due to the inability to read the cards information quickly enough, causing the radio?s CPU to ?max out,? resulting in the previously described freezing and rebooting symptoms.
